I usually wear a 8. I purchased these in an 8 and I am quite pleased with the fit and comfort.There’s ample toe room and the heel fits perfectly.I used to purchase Merrill shoes all the time but found that the quality was lacking so I stopped buying them. These shoes are the quality that I used to buy. Well made. Good stitching and a firm sole which I prefer. Ample arch support.I put them on and walked 8.5 miles without any discomfort.I’m quite happy with my purchase.

Lightweight, large toe-box, zero blisters even breaking them in on my first hike 8 miles, 15% grade. Great shoe in and out of the water at Sedona. Paired them with my Roadrunner Dri-max socks and they dried out so fast after crossing creeks hiking. Great traction. Love the colors. They clean up well and look brand new again after a hand wash. Rigid and High arch
These shoes are pretty stiff and not much cushioning. The reason I had to return them is because they were pushing in on my arch and causing pain so the shoe does have a high arch. The shoe runs wide but fit in length. Overall, it’s an okay shoes but I could not see myself doing any extensive walking in it for sure.

I purchased these in a size 9.5. The fit is a little loose, but it becomes perfect when I double-sock in colder weather or wear thicker hiking socks. Excellent fit for standard size 12, medium width feet. Comfortable and reasonably supportive for the style of light hiker. I have noticed some very limited slipping on wet surfaces as some comments mention but I would not consider it a major issue unless one was planning to wear them in a really wet environment regularly.
