These boots are awesome! Waterproof, warm, great support. I walked in these for 10 days in the European Christmas markets, very comfy, I wore with wool socks, love how light weight they are and the treads are deep and worked well on all surfaces. Great price and true to size. These will be my standard boot for any cold wet muddy or slippery conditions Highly recommend and I’m a tough customer!
If you have ankles and regular width feet, these boots are awesome. Warm and comfy and very easy to put on and zip up. No rubbing.It is easy enough to see that if you do not have readily discernible ankles for whatever reason, or if you have thick feet, or short legs with a lot of muscle, these are not the boots for you.
Loved them, but the top of the boot digs into my leg when sitting down.
FYI - I'm 5'3" and have small ankles - these boots are so fantastic!! They're extremely warm, durable, have great arch support, easy to clean, have great tread/traction and are very comfortable. I don't have any issue with the front digging into my shins or getting the boot on, as I have small ankles. I can see if you have large ankles this could be a problem, maybe initially only, but I'm not sure as they do become less stiff. I love them!!! They're not super fashionable, kind of make my feet look a bit wide but who cares, my feet are so warm!! Bought them with the best socks ever if you're looking for warm socks - Hot Socks!
THE PROS. These boots are sturdy, reliable, comfortable, have good arch and ankle support, and good looking. Though stiff at first; they definitely require breaking in. I've worn them hiking almost every day for 6 weeks now. These boots have grown on me; they provide great stability, grip, are waterproof, rugged, and better looking on than pictured. I really love them.Why only 4 stars?THE CONS• Thermal Fail - I was disappointed in their promised "thermal" ability. They fail to keep my feet warm in temperatures under °40, despite wearing thick winter socks.• Fit - True to size, but a stingy width. I'm a size 8.5 foot, normal to slightly wide feet, with a high instep and arches. "Normal" size shoes fit fine.I ordered and received size 8.5 boots, which are true to size in length, however, less generous, (or normal?) in width and toe box, unlike classic Merrell quality.That was almost a deal breaker, but leather stretches, so I kept them despite the struggle to push my high instep and arches into the stiff, (yet supportive) leather uppers. Once zipped up, they're comfortable and did stretch enough to add orthopedic soles.Would 1/2 size larger comprise the fit in the length?
second pair, first ones the zipper broke after two years. Not bad. I bought again as I loved the shoe, comfortable ,keeps feet warm , light weight and you can wear as a shoe as they are not clunky
Easy on and off. Waterproof. Looks good with jeans. Lots of grip, no slip.Loved them so much, ordered these as a back up pair.
