Impressed with very good quality shoe
At 42 years old, I've tried every brand you can think of. I gave my fav brand of baseball cleats from little league a shot, glad I did. My new favorite pair of runners. Lights and keeps you on a straight alignment.

You gotta try this shoe!
The Mizuno Wave Rider series, especially this Wave Rider 15, is the best running shoe I've ever worn. I don't know precisely what it is about the shoe but it works. Before I say anything more, I must tell you that, like others have mentioned, I used to have shin splints and ankle and achilles tendon problems and, no joke, as soon as I switched back to this shoe, all the problems went away within a day or two. I cannot say that this will definitely happen for you, but I think I read reviews that mentioned similar results. I am sure that it must be the way your foot hits the ground, either pronation, suppination, or neutral. I believe this shoe is neutral. From the wear on the soles of my other shoes, I believe I am mostly neutral with slight suppination. Oh, another thing that must be considered is your arch. I have a medium arch, definitely not flat but not a high arch. Now, you might think you have a high arch but a really high arch is where you have so high of an arch that when your bare foot is wet and you leave tracks on the floor, only a little ball of your heel and little tiny spots of the upper foot and toes can be seen... like animal. My friend has this high of an arch and also finds the Wave Rider comfortable. In all, I can totally tell the difference with this shoe. I can run without pain. I can run longer and farther. I can concentrate on my mind instead of my feet or pain. I love the way the feel is when my foot strikes the pavement... the way it hits and springs forward... how light it is... how comfortably my feet move inside of the shoe and the kind of material it is inside... and how durable the outsole is. It's just a fantastic and perfect piece of athletic equipment and the people at Mizuno really deserve some thanks. I'm planning on buying a few more pairs of these Wave Rider 15s just in case I might not be able to find them in the future-- they are that good of a shoe. Oh yeah-- supposedly Haruki Murakami wears the Wave Rider... now you know you gotta do it:)

Mizuno Wave Rider 15
These running shoes are wonderful, and they truly deserve the 5 stars.I bought these shoes to go back to running, after a long time off it. I am currently a bit overweight, I suffer from moderate shin splints, and I've had some trouble with one of my achilles tendons in the past. With that - and getting close to my 40's - in mind, I decided to invest in a good pair of running shoes. I used the Runner's World shoe finder tool on their website and this was one of the recommended shoes. The Wave Riders fit my feet perfectly. The materials and the design of these shoes are very good, so at the same time they have a good firm fit to my feet, there is no tight spot. Pressure is distributed very uniformly.I have been running on the treadmill continuously for 45 to 60 minutes at a time, every other day, and I feel no pain, numbness, or anything, on my feet. The Wave Riders work perfectly for me, so I can focus on my shape / posture when I run. I have been feeling less and less pain on my shins, and no sign of any pain on my achilles tendon.I highly recommend the following:- Use the Runner's World shoe finder tool. Follow all the steps to the letter. Run a little bit paying close attention to your form and how your feet hit the ground to properly answer the questions. Don't buy running shoes because they look cool or whatever. You can always find something that looks "pro" within the results the site gives you.- Don't save money on your running shoes. Buy good stuff from the running brands. I think I could have prevented some injuries I had in the past by putting more money down on shoes. Remember running is very repetitive, so any small detail that may be a little off may cause an injury when repeated thousands of times. I am biased towards Mizuno now, but there are many options out there.Note: I bought my shoes, plus other running shoes for my wife, on Amazon. She didn't like hers, so we returned them and got reimbursed. No hassle. I am definitely going to buy my next pair from Amazon again.

Great for heavy runners-stabilizes your gait and lets you run with decent support
Mizuno has done some really special work with their sneakers and this model is probably its best for biggger heavier runners as it has the best stabilizing ability to handle folks weighing up to perhaps 280 poiunds even and still support them properly and prevent injury to them running 3 to 5 miles. I do not run more than that so I cannot say if they are good for Marathoms but I would assume they would be sturdy and do very well and prevent serisous injury to larger runners if used for a 10k or more but I have used these for road running in days when I have to run and my weight is a bit on higher side and I need to be sureI will not hurt my back tgo much as they dull the impact and give a bit of a rebound but don't cushion you into being slowed down as some comfy shoes can do -Mizunus like these are to make you want to run faste as you can but without hurring yourself. Their designs are solid and unique to any other show company I have encoiuntered-amazing shoes
