High arches? Size up
I purchased these shoes for running. I have extremely high arches (My footprint is totally disconnected between the forefoot and heel), damaged knees and hips, am prone to Achilles tendonitis and shin splints, and supinate slightly (heels roll outward). I'm a mess, basically, so I need a shoe with a level 4 or 5 cushion and very sturdy support. But without being constrictive, as I have a high foot profile due to my arches. I also wear insoles and athletic socks when I run. And these were purported to be narrow, so I decided to go up a half size.I chose these shoes based on online reviews.ARE THEY NARROW?I was worried about the reviews that claim these are narrow. I don't have wide feet, but I don't have narrow feet either. And when I run, the ball of my foot and my toes "splay" apart a bit, so I usually prefer room in the toe box to accommodate for that. But on first wear, I don't find them narrow at all, particularly in the toe box, where I felt there was ample room. That was surprising.PROFILE:I DO find the laces go up higher on the foot than i typically like since I have a high profile and laces often cause my feet to go numb. I just don't lace the last eyes.COMFORT:These have a high degree of cushion and a snappy, springy response. I need the cushion, but like to feel the response with the running surface, so that snappy response makes them very comfortable overall. However, I still find numbness in my toes (Which is super common for me if I'm using, say, an elliptical) is still an issue.STYLEIf it matters, they're a nice, understated running shoe with a few small details that make them quite attractive. I got them in grey because grey goes with everything and after my shoes retire from running, they usually end up becoming "Schlepping around town" shoes, so I want to make sure they're not going to spend their sunset years clashing with my wardrobe.

A Classic Road Shoe That Never Disappoints Me
I have been wearing different versions of the wave rider for years. This is my favorite shoe for outdoor road running. The best feature of this shoe is the lightweight feel but the support is not compromised. I can't stand anything more than running on a heavy shoe. I have a neutral foot strike so I would take that into consideration when you buy any shoe meant for running. This shoe may not support the needs of people who have a different strike. As far as others complaint the shoe is narrow I did not have this experience. My foot is on the wider side and they do offer this shoe in wide if you truly feel you need it. It is not a tight fight but secure fit.I also was not sure I would like the knit upper but I have really enjoyed it and still feel the shoe offers the secure upper fit I need. I am sure the shoe is perfectly fine for everyday use as well but as someone who strictly wears them for running I highly recommend giving Mizuno and the Wave Rider a try for anyone looking to switch up their running shoes.

Look good feel good good arch support
love my Mizunos! Always get compliments when I wear these! They are good stable shoes with lower profile. My feet are narrow and Mizuno brand are designed for more narrow feet. Good arch support insoles-fit my arch perfectly. Great traction too The 24s have the smooth toe box meaning no seams. Dry pretty quickly when they get wet. Glad to be able to find these on Amazon

Not for wide feet - even the wide size!
I am on the search for a pair of shoes that has great cushioning (I get insane heel pain) and excellent arch support. I also have somewhat wide feet (depending on the shoe). My mission feels impossible. I ordered this shoe in a wide expecting that it would fit - most wide shoes do and some shoes I don't even need a wide. This shoe is so narrow, that even the wide width felt narrow and tight. The shoe felt cushy and the arch support nice, but It was just too tight. So, my search continues, but if you don't have a wide foot and are looking for cushion and arch support, this could be a great choice.

Well-made
I bought these to walk around college campus on school days. Going to school at a big university means alot of walking between classes and buildings to get to where you need to be so it was crucial I wore comfortable shoes. These shoes fit perfectly and are durable and comfy. They do not make my feet ache at all by the end of the day which makes them a great walking shoe.

Good sturdy shoe
The Mizuno Wave Runner is a good sturdy comfortable shoe. I wear orthotics with mine, but the shoe also offers support. I don't run anymore but they last a good 400 miles for walking.

Great go-to sneaker!
Love these! Been wearing Mizuno wave riders for more than a decade and they are the only sneaker I can wear without issues. I have a high arch and some pronation so a good sneaker is important to me. Recently had a tendonitis issue as a result of a minor bike injury and these were the only shoes I could wear. This is a great generation for the shoe too. Really liking the design and fit. Wasn’t sure about the bright pink but everyone loves the color and I’m always getting compliments on them. I suggest sizing half a size up (as with any running sneaker).
