Created deep chafing wounds on my calves
Background: I had been a Mizuno wave rider fan for 8 years straight - went into a store, tried on 5-6 different pairs of shoes, and just fell in love with how light, comfortable and natural Mizuno wave rider felt. Never had any black nails or chafing issues with them, from the moment I put them on I could run 10k and my feet wouldn't know I was wearing new shoes. I just kept buying new generation of wave rider as they came out. As I was looking for a new pair of Mizunos, I saw these, liked the look and bought them, trusting that a pair of Mizunos would never let me down.Why 3 stars: Thee shoes come with a plastic loop in the back which cut into my calves. After a 5-mile walk and a 3-mile run the next day, the piece of plastic created deep chafing wounds on my calves which took about 20 days s to heal and 4-5 weeks later I still have a red mark on my left calf. I cut the piece of plastic off, and bought longer socks and longer running tights to deal with this - but still, this should not have happened in the first place. My calves are on the stronger/wider side, but are normal-sized (I feel compelled to clarify :))).Now that I've cut off the loop, the shoes do feel ok to walk or run in, but I hesitate every time before I put them on, because I'm subconsciously afraid they'd cause wounds again.

My wife loves them!
I received a pair of these for myself yesterday, was thoroughly pleased with them and left a detailed positive review. My wifes pair just arrived, exact same model but in womens, they fit her perfectly and she also absiolutely loves the comfort. She will not use hers for running as I will, however for casual wear they are like walking on clouds. Below is what I wrote about my pair, adding it here since this is the exact same model:"I have a LOT of experience with running shoes, used to own a sporting goods store called "Runner's Roost", and as you can tell by the name running was my specialty. Mizuno usually runs true to size, these are no different, I take a USA Men's 10, that's what I got, they fit perfectly.NOTE: I have a wider forefoot, Mizuno is a medium to wide last (width) so they fit me perfectly, however if you have a very narrow foot these may not be the best.The midsole (white and blue part of the shoe) is extremely cushioned, yet feels surprisingly stable, which is good since I tend to pronate a bit (common running pattern where your feet upon impact tend to roll inward towards your arch). Unfortunately, I am older now and do not run much like I used to, but I tested these out today on an easy 3 miler and they were simply awesome. Being so lightweight and comfortable they would make great casual shoes also if you're not into running.There are a couple warnings on the shoes, one is about the possibility of slight discoloration depending on the situation, this is common, extended periods of sunlight can darken the materials sometimes, especially when dealing with white, but this seldom happens unless left in the sun for days.The other warning, if you know the functionality of athletic shoes, is straight forward. ALL running shoes are only made for forward motion like walking, jogging or running, NOT for lateral (side to side) motion like tennis, basketball or any other court sports. You are raised up in running shoes due to the thick cushioning layer in the midsoles and are basically sitting on top of the shoe, so they would tip over fairly easily if you used them for lateral movement, super high risk of ankle injuries, thus the warning. Court shoes are built lower to the ground and you sit inside the shoe, not on top, offering real good support for side to side. The tradeoff, running shoes can be much softer and more comfortable due to the design, courts shoes slightly less so, if you plan on playing pickleball in these I would highly recommend you do not, get court shoes instead, but for jogging, running or casual wear these will be awesome"

Better than expected
When I first opened the box that it came in I was not impressed. It gave me a yard sale shoes been washed vibe. (if you have ever been to a yard sale you know what I mean)I went ahead and tried them on and so far I do like them. They are comfortable and to me they feel like they would make some good work shoes. They are made out of the material that gives you to option of wearing socks or not wearing them. Over all I give them stars. I got them in my regular size. They are true to size.
