Runs a little bit large and ankle a bit stiff at first

These booties look just like the photos. Initially, because they are loose around my small ankles and stiff, I feel the upper portion hitting my ankles as I walk. I switched to thicker and high socks until the ankle area softens up a bit, but in the meanwhile this solved the issue. Also, the shoe runs a little bigger than expected. I usually order boots in size 8 because I wear them with socks (I’m normally a size 7.5) but these felt more like a size 8.5. Still ok to wear but a half size smaller probably would have been better. I will say that once I switched to thicker socks, this really did solve the comfort and sizing issue and I’ve been wearing these boots frequently. Style-wise, I’ve been wearing these with wide leg or baggy long pants. They look trendy and give me height. Personally, I wouldn’t wear them with tight pants because the ankle area is too wide to look cool that way.
