Best shoes I've had yet and the only shoe that should be worn as an everyday shoe.
For those wondering, I purchased these for bicycling with flat pedals. I did try them on before putting them up prior to getting the flat pedals mounted on my bike. Styling of the shoes makes no difference to me. Shoes are shoes to me. I'm not looking for looks at all. Waterproofing, I'll have to get back to this later on as I've not tested them in the rainy weather here. These shoes are plenty stiff where necessary for my intended purpose as well as most hikers. Value for the money is yet to be determined as I've not worn these long. Arch support in this pair of shoes is great as is the fit. I have a 12EEEEE foot. I have extreme issues with finding shoes that fit. These fit better than the cowboy boots I purchased back in the 80's. The first pair I walked in for 30 miles the next day after purchase. If these Merrell shoes last as long as they did and are as comfortable as those boots were, great. I've been longing for another pair of shoes that gave me a 1 inch lift in the heel area as per a podiatrists words is the ideal heel height for a shoe. Podiatrists recommend shoes with no more than a 1 inch heel and no more than a 15 degree forward cant to that heel. I've not found this in any (I mean all the bicycling shoes I've worn or looked at) other shoe. Not even high end running or jogging shoes. As to the specialized version of Vibram rubber soles, I know Vibram wears good. Let's see how these last when mating up to a pair of Race Face Chester pedals. One last comment here. While writing this review it shows up as Merrell Men's Moccasin like it did after I ordered these shoes. I ordered and got the Merrell Moab 3 waterproof men's low top so this review is for that shoe, NOT the Merrell Men's Moccasin. Amazon, please correct your webserver's issue with displaying the actual product ordered.Update: I've now had about 8 or more hours in these shoes. My body is still adjusting to the difference between cycling shoes and hiking shoes (though I bought these for flat pedals on the bike). I can say one thing for certain. These shoes are warm when the temps roll below 30F. The so called Merrell specific Vibram soles are far from soft like other Vibram soles. The soles themselves ought to last a long time and the pins on my flat pedals don't even dent them,
