They do have a strong smell out of the box, be sure to let them sit for a day or two on their own. They are comfortable with thin socks and you can easily dress them up or down. They look good with work pants and jeans.
I am very pleased with this shoe. The leather is pretty and soft, the support is very good, and the shoe as a whole is lightweight. I love that it looks like a wooden stack heel but is actually much less dense, and is covered with a rubber outsole. I have a bad back, making stiff-heeled shoes and boots quite uncomfortable for standing around or walking. But these are easy. I am also happy that there is a layer of leather underneath the cut-out pattern, so you can enjoy a fun accent without having socks show through - or letting cold and rain get in. I am a size 10 with narrow feet and long toes, and the 10 (my shoe says 42) fit well.
I love these shoes so much, and I love Mona Flying shoes. I have many pairs in several styles, but Mona does not use the same last for all of the styles. I usually take a 42, but I already had this style in tan and gray in 42, and they are a bit snug - wearable but not completely comfortable. I ordered the 43 in green, but they are too big. Very disappointing because they are gorgeous!
I ordered both the regular Wing-tip design and the cut-out design styles. I wear dress socks with these. The regular wing-tip was true to my usual dress shoe shoe size, and the cut-out design is narrow and 1/2 size short. I usually wear an 8 in sandals, an 8 1/2 in dress shoes, and a 9 in most athletic shoes. The 8 1/2 (40) for the wing-tip fits nice, as does a 9 (41) for the cut-out. I have medium width feet and although the cut-out design is narrow and tight upon first wear, the leather is soft and gives enough for all day comfort during the 1st wear. Decent arch support, little padding, probably not good for orthotics or wide feet. I did not find the leather smell to be overwhelming. I recommend these shoes for typical office wear.
These are gorgeous shoes. They are genuine leather and they have laces. They have a short heel and rubber soles. The leather is soft and the shoe is very comfortable. Great shoes to wear with jeans or casual pants. High quality at a great price. I love these shoes and I would definitely recommend them.
I adore these shoes! They are super cute, well made, high quality leather. Very comfortable as well, and the box/presentation is really nice.Sizing:I ordered according to my US size- 8.5, which is normally a euro 39- and they fit perfectly.When they arrived they said euro 40, had I ordered my normal 39, they would’ve been too tight.If you use US sizes, order normally.If you use euro sizes, I recommend sizing up.
This is a beautifully made Oxford. Packaging was elegant and the smell of leather filled the room when I opened the package. This flattering design went great with a formal business suit and I was able to dress down and wear with jeans as well. They have nice cushioning on the inside and only needs to be broken in slightly for total comfort. I wore them with a black no show “sock” because genuine leather tends to stain.Look no further for your next Oxford!
