Muckster II Good for Gardening?
I had a pair of Khombu shoes that I picked up in BJs a few years ago. They were inexpensive loafer like shoes that I expected wouldn't be too good but they turned out to be very practical and very comfortable. I wore them as knock around shoes for a couple of years and when they started to look too worn used them for chores around the house (mowing the grass, trimming bushes, etc.) and when I went on hikes because they were so well cushioned. The sole on one of the shoes eventually started coming off so I had to look for a replacement. I wanted something for outdoor chores and Khombu doesn't make the ones I had bought any more so I tried to find something like it. I saw a lot of good reviews for Muckster shoes but had never heard of them (Well I hadn't heard of Khombu before I saw and bought them at BJs either).I did see a few negative reviews about these being too narrow and hard to slip on or having the sole fall off after a few weeks but thought I would give these a try. They fit as expected, neither too small nor too large or too narrow. (I chose a medium). They are very well cushioned without being too heavy or feeling cumbersome and bulky. I was concerned they might get hot because they are water resistant but they seem to breath well enough that is not a problem…your foot doen’t get hot in these shoes. I think for the type of shoe they are they look good (Not like some clunky water boot type shoe). You can never be sure when you see some positive reviews on Amazon and then there are some that complain about the product being just awful. Since I didn't have a chance to try these on before ordering from Amazon I can say I am pleased that they seem to be a quality product.

Good wet grass shoe
The Muck Boot Muckster Ll Men's Rubber Garden Shoes do well for what they were designed to do: keep your feet dry in wet grass. I have not had mine long enough to determine whether they will hold up over time. But I have some first impressions:1. Since there are no half sizes, the buyer will have to decide whether to buy a half size down or a half size up. I normally wear either a 10 1/2 or 11. I bought the 11, and they are a little roomy for me. I had an good quality pair of insoles sitting around, and I put them in these Muckster shoes to get me a little more arch support as well as help with the roominess. They had been moving slightly up-and-down in the back as I walked. The insoles took care of that problem. I suspect over time that problem would diminish anyway as the shoes break in and conform to my feet better.2. For a pair of rubber/neoprene shoes, these are surprisingly comfortable. It is possible to wear them around the house without your feet feeling overly hot and sweaty. One would have thought that these would quickly cause your feet to sweat, but that is not the case. Even so, I would not even attempt to hike in them on a hot day. I have a pair of GTX hiking boots and GTX sneakers that provide waterproof hiking and walking. So, these shoes for me are just for walking in the wet early morning grass when I take the dogs out.3. The tread is much better for walking on fresh cut grass than most of the shoes that have provide a good gripe because it does not pick up a lot of grass and mud. I keep a stiff bristle brush next to my sliding door to go back into my house in order to clean the glass and mud off of my shoes. There is not much grass and mud on these even after walking in very wet early morning grass.4. I noticed that the tread was a little slippery when walking on my vinyl kitchen flooring when I first walked around with them indoors. But that issue seems to have disappeared after a couple of days.5. The opening is small. Some reviewers have complained about that. However, I have been able to step into them without resorting to bending down and using my finger to keep the backs up as my feet slide in. So, I have not had any issues with the smaller than normal opening. The natural flexibility allows my feet to slide in.All-in-all, I like these shoes. They can be stepped into and worn out when the grass is wet without getting the socks wet. That is why I bought them.

COMFORTABLE SHOE TO WEAR IN CLEAR OR RAINY WEATHER AND ON LIGHT MUDDY GROUND
I wear a 10 1/2 shoe. The size 11 in this shoe is a perfect fit. This is an excellent shoe around home, city or the campsite. A perfect gardening shoe around the home (doubling as a good house shoe also). Works well when clean as a relaxing street shoe in town especially in inclement weather. Around the camp site it shines. The heavy rubber coating keeps embers from the campfire burning holes in the shoe. This slip on moccasin makes it a wonderful midnight shoe to use when you have to leave the tent to make a latrine trip, tramping through the dew damp grass or wet ground from rain. I am on my second pair of shoes and they hold up well in the wear & tear department. As an Army Vet of 27 years I love the Olive Green color of the shoe.
