First mud boots I've purchased. I did around 6hrs review and blog reading over a few days. Wetlands were on sale, seemed like the best choice for me. Additionally, I appreciate the aesthetics.Size: I wear 11.5 or 12, about equally, by brand, not footware type. I went with 12 (my usual boot size), even though Amazon recommended 11. Indeed, 12 was too loose. I bought"Dickies Men's Light Compression Comfort Over-The-Calf Socks" for these. I slipped on some hiking socks over those and it worked ok. I walked 5mi around a flooded lake with no issues. I walked 3.5mi on an extremely rocky trail plus creeks/pools, no problem. Came home. Ordered "Gviipk Orange plantar 240± lbs soles." Size 12 ($30). These soles fit perfectly and now the boots fit much better with enhanced foot support and comfort. Still, slightly loose heel, but 11s with this sole upgrade probably wouldn't fit. I'll take the enhanced support for better hiking/trekking experiences.Note: It took some willpower to get those soles in. I'm not going to be inclined to use these soles interchangeably with other boots despite the fact these soles are expensive and a great upgrade.Note 2: My boots came in their original box (per OP review).Note 3: OP says they wouldn't stalk with these due to weight. It's completely dependent upon your fitness level. My experience is that I can handle about the same amount of walking as in $200 hiking boots. Cons: Heavier. A little more fatigue, drag, hotter feet, muscles not used to this different footware. Pros: Can trek through many wet areas that would otherwise be risking trenchfoot going through, or worse trying to avoid (think log over creek). If it comes down to it, I will attach these to a pack and change as needed.

Great Boot - Size Down for Half Sizes

Originally ordered in size 11 as I wear a 10.5 in every shoe, and it was a bit too loose and the heel slipped a bit much. Ordered the size 10 and it's a much better fit. Great boot, 100% waterproof, very well built, and the amount of cushion makes them one of the most comfortable pairs of boots I've ever worn. Something to be aware of - when descending terrain your toes will run into the front of the boot regardless of sizing up or down. However, it is much less annoying when you size down as there's not excessive room for your foot to slide around inside the boot. Rolling down the neoprene section of the boot allows it to breathe much better for warmer weather. Wearing the boots normally, the neoprene traps heat very well and the removable sock liners help to draw moisture away from your foot. I take them out at the end of the night and leave them to dry overnight especially if I'm planning to wear them the next day. In my opinion, this is the most versatile Muck boot for all conditions, and if you don't live in areas with extreme winters, wearing these with a pair of thick wool socks provides more than enough warmth for winter months. Very impressed with these boots.

Perfect gardening boots

Why did I not know about these boots before?! I work out in my garden 5 days a week and over the years I have worn the same kind of LaCrosse Burly rubber boot and they seemed to work fine. This year, the pressure of being on my feet for so long have taken a toll. At the end of the day my knees are painful and my feet are so sore I can barely walk. I read reviews about these MuckBoots before but I just didn't like the way they looked. I really thought I needed a full rubber boot, like a rain boot. Man, was I wrong. These boots are so comfortable and I can work long and hard and my feet and knees don't hurt at the end of the day. The ankle isn't as tight as I would like it but the boot is much easier to get off. No struggling and no more sweaty calves and feet. I normally wear a 7.5 in a women's Keen shoe and most other athletic type shoes. My foot is narrow too. It was recommended to get a half size smaller in a boot, so I got the women's size 7 (that would be Men's size 6). I find these boots extremely comfortable and I feel sure-footed wearing them. Love the sole too. I have better traction and so much more shock absorbancy. This is my best purchase this year!

Awesome boots!

These boots are so comfortable and practical! I'm very hard to fit: I have various foot problems, including bunions, and the bunions make it necessary for me to wear a wide shoe. Also, almost every pair of shoes/boots that I try on hurts. At first I was skeptical about these boots because they don't come in wide widths. But when I saw them in a farm-supply store and tried them on, I was amazed that they not only fit, they actually felt great! Besides accommodating my bunions, they also have a really comfortable, padded foot bed. I was instantly blown away but was reluctant to spend the money. The store where I tried these on also had $30 rubber boots that I was tempted to get instead because of the price, but they were instantly uncomfortable -- clunky feeling, with no padding on the bottom of my foot. I didn't make a purchase that day, but I kept thinking about these boots. I needed waterproof boots for doing heavy-duty gardening and landscaping around my creek; the boots needed to be agile but supportive. They needed to allow me to wade in the creek but also have good traction on the creek bank, which is steep in spots. Finally I decided to bite the bullet and spend the extra money for these boots -- and I'm so glad I did. The boots work great! They're also easy to remove, thanks to a ridge by the heel that allows you to just "scrape" them off against your other foot or a nearby object. Also, the boots sort of mold themselves to your leg, which gives them a fairly sleek look for this kind of boot. (Yes, they're good-looking!) Other women get excited about their high-fashion boots; I'm excited about my MuckBoots! :)
