GREAT infant stablity
My daughter is quite small and skinny (first percentile for weight, tenth for height) she is almost 10 months old and is pulling up on things and trying to stand. We had a handful of accidents at daycare where she fell and hit her head/face/arms etcetera. We watched her carefully over the course of a vacation and felt the issue to be her shoes. Since she is so small, it is hard to find a hard sole shoe to give her some actual support when standing. Most all of the shoes you find that fit her are soft soled. We had a hunch that if we purchased a pair of shoes with a regular, more hard sole, that this would help her fledgling balance and decrease the amount of falls. Her foot is, of course, narrow, so we wanted a shoe that could be tightened enough to dissuade her from taking them off. We were originally looking for shoes with traditional style laces, but decided they would be more cumbersome than helpful. We hoped that the velcro closure at the top of this shoe would provide enough overlap to allow us to get them tight enough. I am happy to say that these shoes have lived up to all of our hopes and expectations. They do seem to provide that stability, they fit well and the velcro allows us to tighten them enough that they stay on. We used new balance shoes frequently for my other child when they were an infant/ toddler and were frequently impressed. The new balance brand definitely uses the same quality and craftsmanship that we have come to expect in their adult sized shoes, and implements them in the production of their infant shoes. I am very happy and will almost certainly continue to purchase new balance shoes for my children as they grow. They are not the least expensive shoes out there, but they are absolutely worth the extra money.

Well made and super cute
I was looking for something relatively neutral but with a feminine touch and these totally fit the bill. They're well made, fit great and easy to get on and off. One of the faux laces is twisted on one of the shoes but if you weren't looking at it you wouldn't know and it doesn't bother me at all or interfere in any way with the shoe. They're pricy considering they're kids shoes but I've learned the hard way shoes are one item where you definitely get what you pay for and kids are hard on them so I don't mind shelling out a little more.

These shoes are adorably cute, of course. However, our child won't get too much use out of them because they run smaller than expected, and certainly narrower than expected. Also, they do not actually look as illustrated. The color issue is not necessarily a negative -- just know that they do not match the picture provided at the time you submit your order at all.

Sturdy, cute shoes!
Really well made shoe! They are super cute and very sturdy which is important for a wild 4 year old. I would have given it 5 stars except the shoe fit a bit snug. Previous comments suggested that the shoes ran a little more wide than a traditional shoe which is why I purchased them. However, I did not find this to be true.

disappointed
We really liked these shoes when they came. They seem comfortable and durable. My kids are hard on the toes of shoes and these are reinforced. However, the fabric around the top-ankle part of the shoe is completely wearing away. We have had these shoes for less than a month and they don't show wear anywhere else. I have no idea why this is happening, but the fabric/threaded is coming apart for no apparent reason. We are really disappointed and I'd like to return these shoes.
