great skate shoes, run large
These are the only skate shoes my kid wanted, and he wanted the colorway he wanted (Sea Salt, which is a creamy white and blue). They are well-made shoes, and he really likes this style for skating and also for casual wear. It did take us three tries to get the right size. He wears a 9.5 in Nike, and just barely, so that's what he tried first. Those were way too long and wide. So he tried a 9. Still way too long and wide. Then we finally hit the mark with an 8.5. They are still a little long on him, but his heel doesn't pop up in this size, and he thinks they will break in nicely as they conform to his feet. So my advice is, size down a full size. They are cool shoes and worth all the effort. He says they are comfortable and feel good. Kid is happy!
