Solid Work Boots
Safety first is the job motto. Took my time putting these through their paces at the construction site. Whether it's up/down ladders, through dirt/mud, over rock, and through minefields of nails, screws, and gawd-knows what else, these came through like a champ. Note that there's an ASTM rating on the tongue, which is great because my work's safety group wouldn't allow me to wear these without that. These feel like a pair of New Balance runners, but with a high top and a composite toe. Shorter: they are comfy. Note that these are only "wide" so in NB parlance, 2E. If you have really wide feet and usually get a 4E, order up a size. It's a bit longer but your dogs will definitely be happier.Leather outer is soft and moves well with whatever task. you're doing. I wear these to work and sometimes on the weekends, just to see if they can transition. In short, yea, they definitely do (although my style of dress is construction site casual, so YMMV).These don't have a steel/composite shank, so it's not foolproof, but the toes do protect. It has a zip-up side that allows you to lace-and-forget. I love this feature on my other work boots and this definitely makes life easier, but I do have a gripe about this model. The zippered sides don't have a piece that prevents water intrusion like other zipper models. Yea, I took 1* off for that in the water resistance rating, since I would hesitate to walk through deep water in these, versus my other work boots (but based on the outer finish, I wouldn't do it just because). So overall, these are very comfy and feel like a runner. I swapped out the insoles because I'm on my feet all day so the included insoles are great for casual use, but they aren't for me for prolonged use. I go through a pair of steel/composite toe boots every year, so these are actually one of my faves that I might try to keep out of work if at all possible so they last.

Well built but poorly designed
The stupid things have laces that are too short, and instead of metal hooks like normal boots, they have these stupid plastic loops that you have to thread every time you put them on.What the heck were they thinking? The zipper is ok, i guess, but those loops are ridiculous. Had i gone to a store, i would have immediately put them back on the shelf.Once i got them on, they seemed comfortable, but only time will tell.UPDATE: After a few months, they have broken in pretty nicely and the laces have stretched enough to allow getting the boots on and off easily.

Good quality
I got these for my son to use when doing yard work/unloading the truck at his work. He says they’re comfortable and true to size. Not heavy or clunky. They protect his ankles as well. A nice, simple, sturdy work boot.

Comfortable out of the box, wish it had open lugs at the top
These have been pretty comfortable even before fully breaking in. I'm pretty solidly a size 13, and don't typically go for wides, but they fit me well. This makes me think they may be a bit on the narrow side of things if you truly need a wide.I wish the top two eylet/lugs were open like most other work and hiking boots, so you can easily unlace and re-lace those when tying them, but the zipper on the side of the boot makes up for it as an easy way to get them on and off without unlacing. This review was for "New Balance Composite Toe Contour Comfortable & Lightweight Industrial Work Boots for Men, Wheat, 13 Wide"

I've been putting these New Balance Men's Composite Toe Contour Industrial Boots through the wringer at the job site, and so far they've held up like champions! The composite toe provides protection without weighing me down, and the contour design feels like they were custom-made for my feet. Plus, they look pretty darn good for work boots.
