These were a good supportive walking shoe, until I wore them out. The wide fit was good. Comfortable.
These shoes are a hit all around. I bought them for my son. He has wide feet, and is very athletic but has ankle pain often so we wanted a shoe that was supportive and good for his ankles. These have provided comfort for my son when he runs, they’re available in wide sizes which is perfect for my son. We can also fit his feet in them with his ankle soft braces on. They are stylish and well made too. Colors are true to what is shown. We got them in the navy blue and yellow.
The M1080v4's were the most comfortable running shoes I've had. They ran like floating on air - light, nicely cushioned and supportive. I wore out my pair and by the time I went to reorder they were replaced by the v5's, which were a disaster for me. They added some exterior material around the pinky toe that changed the fit and just made them painful and unusable. I couldn't get the v4's anymore so tried several other running shoes in the interim - some Brooks, another NB model, an Asics - but none of them held a candle to the 1080s. I was very hopeful when the v6's came out and it looked as though they fixed the toe problem and upgraded it generally with new padding. I took the v6's out for a test run and they exceeded expectations - even better than the v4s. The new fresh foam sole is amazingly comfortable. The upper fits snugly but with no pressure points. Nice and light. I'll be buying a few pair of these before they phase them out, in case they screw up the v7s!
I'm not sure how to rate this product. I have purchased two older versions of the 1080 size 10 4E and they fit perfectly and we're a dream to wear and run in. Since older versions of the 1080 in this size were not available I purchased this newer (and much more expensive) version and same 10 4E size. Alas, they did not fit similarly, and we're slighly too large in length and width. And there is a layer of extra fabric they've placed around the laces which dug into my little left toe when I ran in them. My first use also brought blisters under my left arch and in my effort to keep them tight also strained my right arch while running in them. I gave them a second try after my blisters cleared, however, taking some pre-run precautions. I taped over area under my right arch and the top of my left pinky where it rubbed so as to prevent the cutting/blistering, and adventurously I also cut a tiny slice out of the extra layering where it cut into my pinky being careful not to cut a hole in the underlying fabric or the stitching. And I loosened the lacing on my right shoe so it wouldn't strain my right arch. With these albeit somewhat elaborate adjustments, my second run in the shoes went very well. I paid too much to simply give up on them. They are lightweight but nevertheless provide extremely good cushioning for pavement and concrete road running. At 66 I normally run on grass or rubberized track but occasionally do road work.... I'll reserve these for the road work. At any rate, now they're better than average, worth keeping and I think will serve their purpose well. Four stars
These are without question the most comfortable things I have ever put on my feet period. Absolutely loved the cushioning and they seemed really great quality. Unfortunately the heel was far too wide and kept slipping so I had to return. Size was normal and everything was perfect except the heel. I do tend to have a slightly narrow heel though (usually wear Saucony) so maybe these are normal but it seemed wider than other brands I’ve tried. Incredible otherwise though!!!
I LOVE THESE SHOES. I’ve only had them a couple days and I Love them. I have flat and wide feet. Most shoes when they give “wide” options are only wide in the front and that is not what I need. I searched for a show that had a wide midsole as well and someone on Reddit described these as the widest on the market. So I got them and I have no regrets!! They feel and look great. I got a 10.5. I did not get wide because like I said most shoes when they offer wide it is referring to the front of the shoes not the midsole so it wouldn’t have made much of a difference for me.
I've had two pair off the V5 and still have miles left on the last pair. They move to lawn mowing shoes. The v6 is superior. Width at ball of foot and midsole better than v5 which pinched just a hair (11 2E). The heel pocket is just a tad large for my foot but I'm an outlier on that. I tied it with a heel lock and it fits great now. Cushioning in the sole is great right now. I assume it will last. Will be a few months before I know, but this is a solid company and I don't believe they would screw that up.Best old fat man running shoe I've owned in 2 years. I'm ordering another pair now in case they screw it up again like they did with the v5 (v4 was far superior to v5).Ran 5 miles today and everything hurts except my feet! Awesome shoe.
