My bf loved these sneakers. They are really well-made, the design is really cute, but they are too firm for running. So, he’ll be using them for casual wear instead. The sizing runs a bit tight. I recommend ordering half a size up.
After a over dozen New Balance 4E shoes over 20 years this is my 3rd set of Gore-Tex lined shoes that do a fantastic job of keeping my feet dry while walking in wet grass. My biggest gripes are: 1.) NB keeps changing their product line so a year from now this shoe won't be available. 2.) I need a 4E shoe. NB no longer stocks many 4E shoes. 3.) Most of NB's shoes are great for a circus full of clowns but the color combinations don't work for every day casual dress, and each year it gets worse. Are these designed by Andy Warhol? This go round I had to settle for a size up in length to get the width I need because 2E is all they had.
Have worn these for a year. Great fit. Not waterproof. Water resistant is more accurate. Your feet will get wet if hiking in dew covered vegetation.
So I really like this new balance. I've bought this style before but I really wanted it in the Gore-Tex version. I'm a woman who bought the mail version because of course the women's doesn't come in Black. It fits just as well. I would like to note that I got it in wide and it's still a pretty narrow shoe.

THIS SHOE MAY CONTAIN A CARCINOGENIC CHEMICAL DO NOT BUY IT! I bought V12 of this shoe two months ago. it contains gore-tex, and I recently learned that gore-tex contains PFAS, which causes cancer. After three calls to New Balance, I was told that they have been removing the PFAS from the 880s, but they couldn't tell me if or when it is in any version other than the most current one. Since I bought the shoes two months ago, they refused to refund the cost or replace them. Amazon was much more helpful. They are giving me a refund. But after many years of loyalty to New Balance, I can't give them anything more than one star. They should have recalled these shoes immediately.
Great shoe, great fit, waterproof.Don't listen to those who said to size up. I wear a 11.5 shoe and bought a 12.5 beacuse they were less than $50 for some reason compared to all the other sizes online. If you are going to go bigger don't go more than a 1/2 size. Honestly could have got away with the 11.5s. For the price I'll keep them. Would recommend.
