Good shoes for gym.
Love this tennis, they are as you would expect, perform great, feel comfortable and this minimus approach is light, flexible, sturdy for lifting and I bought the wide version that fits my feet great, definitely recommend of you do cross training, CrossFit and gym.
This is an excellent New Balance minimal cross training shoe. The shoe runs a half size small, so go up when you order, and I got the wide fit for additional room. Nice wide grippy sole for stability with Minimus zero drop profile. Although, I'll admit that adding a lightweight padded insole would make these supreme. I love NB Minimus shoes and was disappointed when NB got rid of their Minimus running line...My only complaints are the neoprene tongue because it slides a bit and the size issue which hints at lower production QA standards for New Balance. Regardless, it's a great lightweight zero drop shoe, especially if you can get them on sale. Easily 4 stars, 5 if my regular size fit out of the box.Pro-Tip: run the laces over themselves at the last loops for DIY lace lock. See pic.
Just what I was looking for - lightweight, comfortable, and durable workout shoes. They are perfect for my HIIT workouts.
I've been a die-hard New Balance Minimus wearer since I got into bodybuilding over a decade ago. However, each iteration of this shoe seems to get worse and worse. For the life of me, I don't understand why they keep adding more and more padding to "minimal" shoe, and the sizing changes every year. These are extremely narrow and tight around the toebox, even with the Extra Wide variant I purchased. When I can, I try to purchase older models of this shoe on eBay because they're far superior to any modern variant of the NB Minimus.
There definitely was a minimus amount of cushion when it came time for a walk. Compared to other New Balance shoes, these felt like a different brand when it came to comfort when walking some distance. As for style these look great. The fit was good too. I bought a wide size due to reviews stating they are narrow. Glad I did. Picked these up on sale. I probably would've returned them if not. Nice shoes I guess for going to the store or weight training at the gym as long as you're in a relatively stationary position, don't plan on any cardio.
