Do almost everything - in comfort
I’m on my second pair of 1080 v13s. When I first started running in them I wasn’t sure I liked them. There’s an extreme level of cushion that I wasn’t used to. Over a few weeks of using them though, I fell in love. These are some of my favorite shoes I’ve run in. They’re a bit heavy for track workouts or interval sessions but for just about everything else, these shoes are great. I’ve really enjoyed them on longer efforts. In long runs they’ve kept my legs fresh. When I pick up the pace to marathon effort, or maybe even a touch faster, I really feel like I’m able to get some good energy return. But of course, slow, recovery, or just plain easy runs are the bread and butter of the 1080s.These are also a great option for casual wear - so much comfort.

The best shoes I have ever worn so far.
Best shoes I have ever gotten. Super comfortable, this is THE FIT I have been looking for at 11 X-Wide. I love New Balance and they are getting a long-term customer from me now. My feet got busted after running a half-marathon this February on some old Ghost 12's. Those are probably decent shoes, but the width is probably what killed me. 1080 V13's have been my recover walker because I could not walk properly for a week or so. It is so decently plush, but not ridiculously so, and provide ample support for your feet to heal. I use this to my work where I have been walking a LOT every morning. I'd recommend to purchase on sale, but I think this is worth their price at regular price too.

very plush, great walkers
They bottom-out seemingly easily, and don't really have much drop. So, I use my normal dense foam inserts and an additional gel heal-cup/pad under that. That gives me good drop. The shoes are fantastic for plush comfort in general, but the inserts really make it excellent for walking. I feel if I ran in them that they would not be firm enough. For walking, with those inserts, 5-stars for sure. But that is what 1080s really are for, in my opinion, for walking.

VERY comfortable and good foot support for a lot of activities
If, like me, you're a little more "mature" than the average bear, but still fairly active, and have an athletic 200+lb build, but relatively small foot size, at some point, arch support and impact mitigation become more and more important to prevent or mitigate incipient planar fasciitis. Thats been my situation in the last year, and I looked at a lot of possible solutions, including some high end specialty products from local stores (high end pricing, anyway) and installable arch supports, etc.I do a lot of walking, but with two artificial hips, running isn't possible anymore. After trying a number of potential solutions to alleviate my foot pain, I turned back to my old favorite shoe brand from 15-20 years ago, Steve Job's favorite, New Balance. Checked out what they offered, and decided to try a pair of these. One of the reasons for choosing these also was their relatively relaxed weave and fit in the front, around the toes- I've had issues with a tailor's bunion on the little toe on the right foot.Well, these ended up being my solution of choice; I even bought two pair, a lighter color set that are my indoor shoes for around the house, and these darker gray ones for outdoor activities like my morning 3 mile walk, shopping, etc.Note, I found some other shoes with soles more like hiking boots for when I have to deal with snow- these New Balance are great on normal surfaces, but not on icy or snowy ones.The incipient planar fasciitis from last year is just a distant memory since getting these, even when walking barefoot now. Can't ask for more than that!

Very cushioned shoe that looks normal.
These are my go to for both comfort and everyday shoes. I have been wearing them for a year and they are on of the most cushioned shoes I own. They also look like a normal shoe and don't have the big lump in the back like other running shoes. I wear them for walking and standing and they are still cushioned. The tread is still holding up and there is not wearing down yet. They are pricey but you get what you pay for. I would suggest if you haven't tried one on before to give it is shot! These New Balance 1080 V13s are insanely comfortable. Do not settle for an 880 of some lower shoe when this is an option.
