Very comfortable and good for speed training.
Fantastic all around running shoe. I have wide feet and these are a perfect fit with a very roomy toe box. Plenty of cushion and well balanced. The only negative thing I can say about the shoe and it’s fairly minor but there is a little bit of movement in the heel area, as it is designed a little bit slicker on the inside than I would prefer. I just have to lace them extra tight and it’s all good. I will definitely be buying these again when I wear this current pair out. I’m hoping I can get a couple hundred miles out of them.

Great trainer
I have finally settled on a daily trainer. This shoe has a good balance of weight and comfort.I did my long run on Sunday and changed shoes in the middle to compare the New Balance vs the Brooks Glycerin. The Brooks are comfortable but are definitely less responsive on my push off.The carbon-plated race version, the NB V5 Elite is a fine shoe, and many people are using them for triathlon. Great if you have a mid foot strike. Nike’s (Alpha Fly) force me personally to fore-foot strike which helps increase my cadence. So the jury is still out on my race shoe.BTW: The speed version of this shoe, NB Pacer, is excellent. Light and fast. I use it for my tempo runs which last for up to 10 miles. For a super light shoe I have no discomfort. Very surprised!

Do Not Purchase - insole split and upper pulled away from lower
Do not purchase. I bought these for my son for casual use - not distance running. After approximately 2 months the upper pulled away from the lower portion of the shoe and the cushion in the upper portion of the shoe split. Upon reaching out to New Balance, i was offered a 20% off coupon to purchase another pair. I expect more of an $180 shoe and expect New Balance to stand behind the quality of their products

Fun running shoe for faster workouts and racing.
This is a fantastic running shoe. Highly recommended if you enjoy some good bounce in a high stack midsole where you feel absolutely no ground contact. Which I do.The upper and lockdown work quite well. Fits true to size. You should easily get 400 miles or more out of this. Only gave four stars because I’m having a hard time running slow in this shoe. It’s supposed to be a daily trainer, but it feels more like a race shoe to me.
