These shoes are absolutely beautiful. It's a truly classic look for a reason - it always looks fantastic and timeless.I love the shinny patent leather look with the deep red color, Mary Jane Straps, chunky heel and square toe box. I'm well past my days of squeezing my toes into an uncomfortably narrow toe box. If I can find a shoe with comfort and style, I'm super happy! These are shoes that will look great on persons of any age.Having said all of that, I did hold one star back for a reason. The size 10 is too big on me. I probably need a size 9. As a rule, I can never wear anything smaller than a size 10. In fact, I sometimes need a 10 wide or a 10.5 regular. Even though the pair I received is too long for me and the straps are too loose, I will add some padding to make these work. They're too pretty to leave in the closet.I'd also like to mention that the way the straps work is pretty clever. It's nice to leave the buckle where it is and just hook the strap through the s-clasp. I'm thinking I'll be able to add another hole to the strap to make them more secure.

classic shoes that are comfortable even with neuropathy.
I got a half size larger than I normally do because I have neuropathy on my feet (the toe and ball area is where the numbness and tingling are at this point in the progression).Shoes that are comfortable for me are important. Because I can't have tight fitting shoes at the toe area. So I did get a half size up. They work, though. They are comfortable enough that I could wear these to church on Sunday for a couple hours.I think they look nice with pants as well.The buckle is something I have never come across before. IT is very interesting. I do not know the correct terminology but there is like an S-hook that you just slide the buckle into once you have it tightened properly. I have never seen this before. I usually wear slip ons. I haven't worn buckle shoes in over 15 years.Overall, I LOVE that they aren't pointy toes. Pointy toed shoes are so ugly. Disgustingly ugly. These are not pointy toed!! These are beautiful. The shiny black is classy and classic. 20 years from now these will still be in style.
