Funny color brown; but well made, feel secure on my feet, and the small heel is nice.
I gave it four stars because of the color. I realize that my monitor, or their pictures may have been to blame, but I thought they would be a different brown. To me, this is an odd shade of brown; please see the pictures below. I would find it hard to find a purse or belt that would match.Now, color aside: The shoe is true to size; and, although the material feels a bit tight, I expect it will relax over time. As an older woman, I appreciate the smaller heel; it feels very comfortable in height. The toebox is nice and wide for me; and although I am not in love with three straps on each shoe, I can admit that they make the shoe feel very secure. I like that. They say this is a retro style; but I cannot remember every having a pair like this, and I am pretty retro myself.So overall, aside from the color, this is actually a well fitted, well-made shoe that gives good value for its price. But do be aware of the odd color; or you may be disappointed.

I’ve been wanting a pair of Mary Jane’s for about 2 years now. However it’s hard to find adult Mary Jane’s that don’t look like little kid shoes. These are perfect! The shape is a bit square, which I like. It helps break away from the traditional toddler look. It has a block heel which elevates the look too. Not too high. Just about an inch. It’s got an open back, which I would prefer it didn’t, but I’m okay with it. Instead of having one wide strap like the kids version, it has two smaller thin straps. My favorite part is actually the straps. They have a unique design that makes them easier to fasten. The buckle doesn’t work like normal. The hardware of the buckle sits on top while the strap itself slides into a channel on the bottom side. Picture it kind of like how the front clasp of a bra works. All in all, they’re very attractive, stylish, age appropriate Mary Jane’s for adult women. Love these shoes.

Overall I really like these shoes! The patent leather is very shiny and glossy, and the brown color is really stunning. I love the square toe look and on first wear they are surprisingly comfortable! The heel gives a bit of height without being painful. They are true to size!The only qualm I have is the kind of unusual buckle style on the 2 bucks that go across the foot. I’ve attached pictures in my review. The buckles aren’t real, and they attach with a hook to the shoe. I guess I don’t understand this style, if there is an extra piece involved why not just have a real buckle? The heel buckle is real. It’s not necessarily a problem, just something I wanted to point out since it’s not very visible on the product.I haven’t worn them enough to know how well they are going to last. On first glance I am definitely worried the patent will scuff easily, but they arrived in absolutely perfect condition so hopefully they last well if I take good care of them.
