Great Boots, Super Versatile
I was just literally looking at a pair of these boots in the name brand, when I came across these and I'm so glad I didn't spend the $159 price for the name brand pair. These are just as good!I am usually an 8-8.5, with average-width feet. Mavbe they are a tad on the wider side, but not much. In some styles, I'll go up to a 9. These are one of those styles where I sized up to a 9, because I wanted to be able to wear thicker socks for fall/winter, and I am so glad I sized up. They fit perfectly! They will still be a tad snug width wise with super thick socks, but the length on my foot is just perfect with a little room at the toe to spare. I'd rather have boots a little big, than to small, because you can always add insoles or wear thicker socks. There is something in the ball and toe of the boot to help keep it's shape in that area, if you have super wide feet this may not fit as well unless you size up.My calfs are average sized, 14" around, and because these are stretchy, I was worried they would be too big in the calf areas. Other reviews said they fit large calves but I don't have that issue. Let me tell you, they are just right on my 14" calves! Not to tight, not to loose. And they come an inch below my knee (I'm 5'4") so they elongate my legs instead of cutting me off at the knees like some boots do.The cushioning on the bottom is just right, I don't feel like I'm walking on hard concrete. The heel height is also just right, enough to give a lift while still being comfortable to wear for multiple hours. I don't have any trips coming up, but when I do this fall, I will be packing these. They are lightweight, and fold in half so they'll be easy to pack! I have not tested how they do in the rain. The original brand these are similar to is water resistant, but this listing doesn't state that so I may spray them with water repellant so I can wear them when it's damp.The sole is plastic, so it is a little loud on hard surfaces but if you're used to wearing heels or boots with heels, it's normal. They don't have a ton of traction, about what you'd expect from dress boots. I'm just so thrilled to find these for a fraction of the cost as the originals!
