Pretty good, but a lot of room for improvement.
The Nike Juniper 2 Trail running shoes are good shoes, but there is a lot of room for improvement to make them a worthy trail running shoe. It is probably better to spend the extra money to get the Nike Pegasus Trail if wanting a solid trail running shoe. The good:*Well built, good construction, good materials.*Fairly lightweight.*Look good.*Size is correct.*Sole traction is good.*Good for hiking and walking. The things that can be improved.*Cushioning is quite firm. Ride is a little harsh.* A Little too narrow footprint. Nike makes a lot of running shoes narrow both in fit and overall narrow shoe. I like the newer industry trend toward more wider platform because the strike is more stable and seems to distribute your weight more across the foot better on the ground strike.*This is personal preference, but I like lower drop shoes. Nike makes their shoes generally with higher drop. I do think lower drop shoes can help avoid knee pain (patellofemoral syndrome) by using more of the forefront of the foot on the ground strike rather than being too much of a heel striker.
