GREAT Fantastic Comfortable LASTING Shoes!

These shoes are absolutely wonderful!! I got these for my boyfriend as a surprise gift because he had the same pair that he works in maintenance and needs waterproof shoes as a must!!! he says that they are extremely comfortable and he is on his feet for 10 hours a day… highly recommend these they’re super comfortable, very easy to clean, very easy to wash in the washing machine, and they look great on him!! I’m just now writing a review six months later after purchasing them and they are still looking brand new! And he works in them every single day!!

Rain-soaked trails, meet your match

I’ve put a little over forty Florida-summer miles on the Nike Pegasus Trail 5 GORE-TEX, most of them in sideways rain, and they’ve already earned a reserved spot by the door. The Invisible Fit membrane keeps water out without giving that plastic-bag feel—my socks stay dry, and the shoe flexes like a regular trainer instead of a clunky winter boot.Underfoot, Nike’s new ReactX midsole brings road-shoe energy to mud, roots, and crushed-shell paths. I finish runs feeling bouncier than I have any right to on swampy routes. The outsole lugs and sticky rubber grab wet boardwalks and slick limestone with zero drama, so I’m not tip-toeing every time a puddle shows up.Little design touches seal the deal: an extended ankle collar that blocks sand and pine needles, a 3-D toe cap that shrugs off rocks, and a black/grey colorway that looks totally normal at the brewery post-run. The only trade-offs are the premium price—about $180—and slightly warmer feet on steamy days. Thin socks solve the latter; the waterproof peace of mind justifies the former.Bottom line: If you want one shoe that handles ankle-deep puddles yet still feels lively on dry pavement, the Pegasus Trail 5 GTX delivers. Consider me converted.

Feels like hard plastic

Super cheap it had a bunch of glue on it and not very comfortable super stiff plastic like. I don't recommend them at all!

Heel Slippage

Poor heel support and fit. Also tried the GTX and that has even worse heel support. Item has been returned.

very comfortable hybrid trail sneaker

I am not sure what the negative reviews are about as these are super comfortable (I did swap out the OEM insoles with a pair of memory foam insoles -which raised the bar on comfort). The sole feels stable, the grip is good and the toe box is wide enough where my toes have room. Waterproofing is great and the gore tex lining is not hot at all. The only thing I don't like about the shoe is the weird gaiter built onto the collar - its function is to help keep debris and water from entering the ankle area....but Nike may want to re-engineer that, as it's way too flimsy and needs a bit more structure. I always have straighten the gaiter when putting on the shoe otherwise its ends up partially tucked and partially out. Other than that, I highly recommend this hybrid sneaker for walking, hiking or minor trail running.
