Great for casual and hiking
These are comfortable but the pair I bought for my husband didn’t hold up at all. It wasn’t even like he wore them all of the time. He has 5 pairs of shoes to wear outside while working in the yard and walking for short periods of time. They’ve all held up but not these. I am very disappointed in these shoes because they are NOT CHEAP.. They are completely torn through in the toe area on both sides. Fabric started fraying at less than 6 months and the holes started shortly after that. See photos below. I chose 1 star because you can’t put 0 stars.
I ultimately ended up returning these shoes but the primary reason was due to how they fit, there is no problem with the shoe itself. If you prefer a molded foot bed with support for high arches I cannot recommend Oboz enough - they are my go to shoe in cool weather. I was hoping these specific shoes would be a good warmer weather option (Oboz do tend to be warm, especially the waterproof iterations) but unfortunately not. For quality and overall support Oboz cannot be beat, but if you are looking for casual summer wear this is probably not the thing.
Very nice and cushy. True to width but length runs 1/2 size too long. I wear a consist 12 in many Oboz styles but had to do 11.5 in this one.
I have purchased several pairs of Oboz shoes over the last several years including 2 pair in the last 5 months. The Katabatic I purchased in April (5 months ago) as just a daily shoe to wear to work. I am on my feet a lot and I wanted a light non-waterproof shoe that breathed well. These shoes are very comfortable and they look great. They are light and are not hot at all on my feet. But, the front toe on the right shoe is completely cracked and the left shoe is starting to crack. The sole and sides look great. But, the biggest problem I have is they smell terrible and I can NOT get the odor out of these shoes. I have not worn them in water, I don’t have a foot odor problem and they aren’t even used to wear off road. Not a single other pair of Oboz or any other shoe I have ever owned have an odor I can’t get rid of. I have frozen them, washed them in vinegar 3 times, air them out for a week and used Lysol on them. They are the nicest, newest shoes I will have had to throw away. I had sent an email to help@obozfootwear.com a few weeks ago asking for suggestions or help and have not heard anything back.I have purchased Oboz Bridger Low B Dry shoes since then and they are great just like of my other Oboz shoes.
I had these for 3 weeks now, wear everyday to work. Already the water proofing is gone my feet get soaked in wet grass. I really really liked these style oboz and still do except they are falling apart already. Maybe for a hiking shoe as it’s intended for and waterproofing as much as small puddles and light rain but for what I do, swimming pool installer they didn’t hold up. For the price I expected way better but it’s still a good shoe overall just no for me
They feel great, not a long break in. I walk a lot and these are the best shoes I got for that
