Squeaks went away! High-quality and great for narrow feet
I’m really liking these! I almost returned them because they had TERRIBLE squeaks with every step out of the box and I did not want to risk squeaking everywhere. But after they were worn for one day, the squeaks were gone. I have super narrow feet and it can be difficult to find good, supportive shoes. These are perfect and would be very comfortable for travel, hiking, or daily use. Because of my crazy narrow feet, I did have to tie the elastic at the top to tighten them up, but it works fine and isn’t that noticeable. I can still slip my feet in and out and they don’t feel like my feet are swimming around in there and my heels are not slipping! Feel like high quality, they are gray with a very muted green tint to them.

Why the Silly Laces?
This is my second pair of this style Oboz. (and fourth pair overall). Needless to say, I love the fit and support from Oboz shoes. They last a long time so I'm willing to pay some extra bucks. I loved my hikers so much I purchased my first of this style of shoe for wearing indoors, as I didn't want or need the heavy tread. The Oboz brand has so much better support, and I have dealt with plantar fasciitis and bad arches. so I was thrilled that the shoes kept my feet happy all day. I needed a new pair, so purchased the second time. Somewhere in the last two years they switched to elastic laces. Why? These laces are difficult to deal with, do not have the same supportive value, and yes, tying shoes gives arches much better support. The fit is great, slipped them on and they felt like old friends, except loose around the arches. I agreed with another reviewer, there should be a toggle to hold them snug after pulling on the elastic laces. I won't return, I know the shoe should work out to be a fav, but it stinks, that I need to go buy and re-lace brand new shoes! When you have a good thing going, DON"T make changes!!

Crucial to re-knot the laces to find the right fit
These shoes are awesome, very comfortable, but when I first put them on, they felt way too big. I was disappointed, because my Oboz Bozeman are my favorite shoes. I’ve never had shoes with elastic laces, and I wondered if the laces of these could be adjusted. I searched the box for instructions and I searched Oboz’s website for instructions, but I found none at all, which was frustrating. I decided to take matters into my own hands. I pulled the laces out and tied a second, closer knot on both sides. On one shoe, I tied knots a couple inches in and on the other, just an inch in. After I did this, the shoes felt much more comfortable, so I decided to not return them. I plan to try out the two different lengths for a few days, decide what’s most comfortable, then cut them accordingly. I guess I’m supposed to cut them?? Seems strange to do, but having the laces stick straight out seems ever stranger. Oboz really need to include instructions, because most people will never have had shoes with laces like these and won’t know they can be adjusted. One customer who wrote a bad review here simply returned hers, saying they were way too big. If Oboz had included instructions in the box or online, she might have gotten to find a new favorite pair of shoes, which I think this pair could become for me!

Well made shoe with a lot of issues
The Jeanette Oboz seem to be a quality, well made shoe. However, that's the only good I can say about them. Several things are not ideal. This is a heavy shoe. The elastic lacing system is ridiculous. There's no good way to lace these that look good. I always wear a size 9 1/2 across all the brands. This size 9 1/2 was just slightly too long. A shoe that's too long, even just slightly, becomes uncomfortable. Too much room at the end of the big toe and a slight sliding up and down on the heel. They are also a very narrow shoe. I can't complain about that because I have a narrow foot and they fit my foot width just right. I specifically purchased these shoes because my brother said they were the most comfortable shoe he'd ever worn. I should have known that what's comfortable for some may not work for others.

Great
These are so comfortable. I have a pair of Oboz hiking shoes but wanted a more casual looking shoe for a vacation where I'll be doing a lot of walking. These are perfect, sizing is true to size, I like the elastic laces and they don't look like bulky hiking shoes.

Second pair
I was replacing an older pair and these were authentic OBOZ even though I paid 1/2 the price I paid for my first pair ant SCHEELS. Everything is as described color, fit, & style. I LOVE OBOZ because they have good arch support. I wore them all day the first day without any issues. I have a wider foot but the 8.5 fit perfectly. I do wear them with merino wool socks not heavyweight hiking socks. If you have very wide feet I would say these might not be for you. I am a solid 39 but in US sizes I can be an 8 or 8 1/2. I hope this helps someone trying to figure sizing. I do spray them with a water proof spray for extra protection but the shoes hold up well.
