Stylish, Robust, and Dependably Dry - Perfect for Day Hikes
These hiking boots are a phenomenal choice for weekend trails and general outdoor use, earning a strong 4.5 stars. The Upside: Quality and ProtectionThe robust quality and handsome, good-looking design stand out immediately. The materials feel durable, and the ankle support is secure. Critically, the waterproof protection is completely reliable - my feet stayed perfectly dry through wet grass and small streams. Excellent grip from the deep-lug outsole makes them dependable on typical rocky and slippery terrain. Weight is about right, not too heavy not too light. The Trade-Off: LimitationsWhile these boots are outstanding for versatility and comfort, they are not ideal for extreme conditions. I wouldn't recommend them for really long, multi-day trekking expeditions or for navigating difficult, highly technical terrain (like extensive boulder fields). They perform best on well-defined trails and day trips, where they offer fantastic protection and great value.

Look great--easy break in
I picked these up for my husband as we live in New England and are heading into the winter season where boots are the standard footwear to work every day. He's been breaking them in walking the dog and over the weekends but loves them so far. He's typically a 9 and he said they fit well, perhaps a little more room than in a standard 9 but I'm assuming that's meant for heavier socks. When he tightened down the laces they snugged up and were comfortable. He's walked our dog through the soaking went grass several times and feet are perfectly dry. They look nice with Khaki pants and especially where we are, look good enough to wear in a casual office environment for the day. If he's happy, and the look good, that earns a solid recommendation from me!

runs small, order up a half size
Well made, with solid stitching and good quality, soft material.Solid arch support, good lacing and solid soles. They look great, but I will stick to my Wolverine's for winter.. these are for looks, not function when it comes to extremes. They also seem to run a bit small, thankfully my grandson could wear them so they were not wasted.Good for the price, but I won't order another pair.

Accurate sizing, roomy toebox, and waterproof
These Legends sit well above what's expected at the price point. Comfortable at first wear, when typically at least a short break-in period is needed. The construction is pretty good, no obvious fail points. The upper eyelets are metal and not plastic, though both using them and lacing through the tongue doesn't work together. No biggie, I wouldn't typically do that anyway. The soles have a nice tread for relatively smooth trails, and not so thick that I lose ground feel. Sizing is acccurate, and a large enough toebox that my feet never felt cramped. Ankle support is decent and the cushioning around them is good. The boots are lightweight and wearing them for a short trail walk, about 5 miles, was pleasant. Zero evidence of any potential hotspots, though I have boots I would choose instead for a longer hike. I can't comment on how well they would do in cool temps, weather being in the 70's yesterday, but they did not heat up during the walk which is a big plus for Florida.Being water-proof is almost a necessity with the frequent surprise rainstorms we have, and I can vouch for the claim OL Outjet makes. Intentionally walking through several puddles up to a couple inches deep allowed no water to penetrate. My feet stayed dry, and the outside didn't soak up any water. The overall support from these is OK but not outstanding. I don't think I'd wear these for rocky terrain or unmarked trails. At the price that's not unexpected, as these are not meant to be high-performance boots. That said, most of us don't need something of that caliber and cost. For state park and wildlife refuge hiking a few times a month I could recommend the OL Outjet Legends. Weekend walks over marked dirt trails even in wet conditions are what these are meant for, and they succeed. For non-taxing off-road walks these would be a very good choice in my opinion. Very affordable, very comfortable, well-made, and accurately sized. I've paid much more than this boot's asking price for less performant footwear. If I could give these 4.5 stars I would.

Don't Worry About Wide or Half Sizes
+ Normally order shoes in wide. The normal size fits like a wide.+ Normally order a half size. I went down a size and they still fit.+ Great ankle support.+ Comfortable to break in. Even when on feel for 8+ hours working retail.+ Good arch support.+ So far a durable shoe that seems to support my feet.
