If I could design a perfect sandal, it would look almost exactly like these
If you are not familiar with Amazon Vine, it is basically Amazon trading free* products for honest reviews. You see a lot of Vine reviews that are cookie cutter and based on templates. I aim to make my reviews honest and non-cookie cutter (other than this intro and disclaimer).* These items are not actually free as Vine members pay income tax on the items they receive. Therefore, I will never order something from Vine unless I actually intend to use it. I think this is important for readers to understand because it means I will never order an item just to provide a fake five star review to a company. If I review something as good, it means I actually enjoyed using it or it fills its intended purpose correctly. Items that don't meet my expectations will be reviewed accordingly.Why I ordered this item: I am a flip flop fiend. I wear them year-round and I just love the way they feel. I have a few pairs of Olukai sandals, but none of them are expensive like these and none of them are leather. I wanted to try something higher end that I usually get so I ordered these.Likes:* Build quality on these is absolutely top-tier. The leather is beautiful and completely flawless. The rubber parts are super dense and feel extra durable.* The arch supports in these are excellent. They are better than my previous Olukai sandals and they support my flat feet like a pair of Vionic sandals.* I didn't think I would like the designs on the surface of the sandals but they actually look incredible.* I usually wear a 11.5 or 12. I ordered these in 11 since my other Olukai sandals ran a little big. The fit is good and currently a tiny bit tight, but once the leather gets worked in these should fit me perfectly.No likes:* The only thing I'm not crazy about is the pattern on the tops of the straps. It looks less gaudy in person than it does in the product listing. I went back and forth on four or five stars, but ultimately this doesn't bug me and I chose to go with five.Would I pay full price for this product: Yes, these are expensive but they are worth every penny.Final thoughts: I'm a firm believer that you should buy something once instead of buying cheaper versions and then working your way up to the version you should have purchased to start. I don't mind paying top dollar for an ultra-quality product. I can safely say that these are the most luxurious pair of sandals I have ever owned. They make my leather Rainbows look cheap in comparison. I absolutely love these, and if you pull the trigger on them I suspect you will too.
