Lovely boots that provide support - win/win

I ordered this pair of Orthofeet boots via Amazon as I needed a quick delivery and Amazon delivered next day. I accepted this delivery from the driver in my way out and put them inside to try later. As soon as the groceries were put away I tried these on.Initial thoughts:Very nice looking boot, I wouldn't look at it and say orthotic. I am really happy with their appearance.I was worried they would be too narrow but the 7.5 medium feels like a good fit. I also assume the leather will stretch a bit after wearing. I take an 8 in Brooks running shoes and 7.5 in other shoes, including my Orthofeet sandals which I love.My big toe on the right has plenty of room to wiggle and doesn't hit the front of the boot when walking as can happen in some of my 7.5 sneakers. My left foot is a half size smaller than my right and happily the boot is stable. My only concern is my pinkie toe feels like it's pressing on the outside of both boots. I may need to exchange for the wide.I am surprised the heel isn't bothering me as I have been living in sneakers for the last 5 years, but they are actually comfortable to walk in.I was a little disappointed that they were not more cushioned I would really love a beautiful boot that is cushioned like my Brooks sneakers are 😀. I decided to try the inserts they sent and placed the blue insert under the Orthofeet insole, it definitely helped a little with the cushioning. Enough to make this good for me.Next I put in the arch support as I have high arches, perfect fit. I am thrilled the boots are not to loose around my ankles also.I will be keeping these or exchanging for a 7.5wide and hope the boots and slippers I have coming are a good fit also.Orthofeet as a company has been very responsive to my questions and the service has been great.I have been searching for black boots with good support that I can wear for at least a few hours when going out. These will fit that bill and maybe longer once broken in. Happy to have found Orthofeet.

Tired Teacher Searching For Comfy Shoes

What buyers need to know:Runs a bit narrow. 7 W fits more like a 7 m.Layers are removable. The arch support is good. The spacers are hard and the removable sole is about a 3 on the cushion scale. (Not quite enough for my foot issues.)**Deep enough to accommodate your own orthodic/choice of insole!!!**Looks nice. Cuter than other orthodic shoes I've looked at. Seems to be authentic leather. If you don't mind the seams across the toe it's a cute boot.Leaves black streaks on school tile floors, but not on my ceramic tile floors and home.More details/ my story:In my early 30s I had a surgery to put a screw in my upper right foot. Due to swelling of the scar tissue and painful tenderness near the screw, I need an orthopedic footbed with LOTS of cushion. The included inserts were not enough to prevent foot pain. Very hard.I am a true 7, rarely need wide, BUT all boots this season I've tried (in just about every comfort brand out there) have run very narrow. I ordered a 7 W in these Ortho Feet boots as I have sent back about eight pairs of boots from other comfort brands. The 7 W finally was the right fit.I chose Ortho feet as they advertised layers which can be removed. I thought would help with warm winter socks. This also allowed me to remove the spacers and put in a Dr. schools ultra cushy insole.I hope later to have an orthodic insert made. This shoe is deep enough to accommodate one if you need it.

The perfect pair of boots!

GREAT pair of boots, at last! The toe box is wide inside, but doesn’t look like clown feet on the outside. The inserts give you lots of snugness and support options. I have spinal stenosis which makes my feet occasionally go numb, but it’s happened less in these, since I can wiggle my toes!! And they look smart, too!

No more heal pain!

This summer I developed very painful heal discomfort to the point I couldn’t put any pressure on my foot if I had been on my feet for any length of time. My podiatrist diagnosed arthritis and bone spurs as the problem and recommended Dr Scholls full shoe inserts. Also, to wear my walking sneakers all the time. I tried the inserts and the problem got worse so, I went back & purchased the inserts specifically for heal pain. They helped to a degree but wearing sneakers all day tired out my feet & only eased the pain but didn’t stop it. So, I decided to check out Amazon to see if they carried shoes for this type of problem, which they did! And, after reading the reviews on the several brands decided to try the Ortho brand sneakers. Well, they were well worth the cost & relief from heal pain was almost immediate. So, since I live in a winter snow region I knew I would need boots and went right back to the Ortho brand and was not disappointed. The boots fit a bit loose in the box of the shoe but Ortho includes the extra inserts and a special heal insert for added comfort if needed. Since I’ll be wearing socks in the boot I was able to remove the full pad insert and leave the heal one in place without causing the pain to return. In the future I will go back to purchase Ortho if a different style is needed. My feet have been very happy, comfortable, do not have the pain even after walking a long length of time.

Not comfortable

It is pretty but not comfortable. I removed all inserts because of the pressure on the top of my foot. They are stiff and not easy to walk in. They are attractive. I will wear them to lunch or dinner but never when excessive walking is required. I'm hoping they will stretch with use
