Cute vintage-style short boots. The laces do work and aren't just ornamental despite the convenient side-zip that makes putting them on easier, so you can adjust the laces once they're on and zipped up so that every time after that the zipper is all you need. They're comfortable, but there isn't a lot of arch support, so bear that in mind. Once they're on and zipped up, they are a little stiff, but they're also new and I'm sure they'll break in more in time. Love that they're not so tall that they come up to the thickest part of the calf. By only going up as high as they do, they're able to be worn by those with thicker calves without feeling like the boots are going to burst open like an overcooked bratwurst. They fit true to size. But wife is able to move about in them and they're bending but not developing any premature creasing or worse, cracking. We'll see how well they hold up over time and if they fall apart or degrade prematurely from just normal wear, I'll amend the review to note such. As of now, big recommend. They're cute, stylish and comfortable.

My daughter is impressed
I got these for my daughter, who prefers boots over pretty much every other form of footwear. She has one pair of boots that's worn out and ugly from constant use, so hopefully this pair will suffice to replace the old one.And so far, so good. She says they fit really well, are comfortable and true to size. They're also very lightweight, and in her words, "seem easily destructable." But she's still planning on wearing them to school tomorrow. Her impression is that they might wear out or come apart from constant use, and if that does indeed happen within the next six months or so, I'll come back and update this review. But for now, on day one at least, they look good and are comfortable to walk in, so we're giving it all positive remarks.

Stylish and comfortable
I previously ordered these in maroon for an event and liked them so much I got them in black too! They are very comfortable and the fake leather is soft and shiny. I appreciate the zipper on the side with the laces allowing for fit adjustment. They are true to size and fit even my thick ankles very well. They also clean up easily with just a damp wipe. The rubber sole provides some traction and they are very good value for the price.

These are a fine affordable choice in footwear. The material is soft and pliable making them very comfortable. The laces are cosmetic only due to a zipper on the sides which allow putting them on or taking them off much easier. Shoe size is always a concern, but these are true to size.
