This shoe is worth the price and makes my linedancing easier, as it glides across the floor. I'm better able to turn and change positions quickly. Though its not a walking shoe, I'm comfortable walking in it for short walks. I suggest ordering it a 1/2 size larger than your regular size.
my daughter is using these for color guard and loves them. she said they are very comfortable and they look really nice. She has high arches and has made a point to say they support her feet really well. well made, work exactly as promised and keep her from slipping and sliding all over the place.
Peespective of an irish dancer who needed practice shoes because my old ones fell apart.Real quick I docked it one star because they didn't send me the exact style I ordered. It is just the plain black ones but I can manage.So I do use practice sneakers for irish dance specifically and so far I love these! Best practice sneakers ever! They are breathable because you can clearly see my red sock showing in the top half of the shoe. They are light and not bulky! My old bloch shoes were super bulky and I needed something for soft and heavy dances. These are great! Can't speak though for doing toe stands. Might have to be broken in more for that.But for the times I cant wear my soft or hard shoes at practice for injury or im walking around at a competition these are amazing! So comfortable and easy to practice in! Not too sticky or slippery! Can do my trebles with ease. Size was spot on to my normal daily shoes. Im a wide 8 and I ordered an 8 and I was fine!I didn't see an irish dance specific review so maybe that will help other dancers if they come by :)
UPDATE: the below review was for the black ones with the white mesh stripes on the sides. I love them so much but they didn't have the white version of the same style so I bought the other white version and these fit completely differently. They were too short and too narrow in the 8 1/2 and I normally wear a nine, so I tried to re-order in the nine, but there was no size 9 available. apparently these shoes are also available from two other vendors, and I was able to get the white ones in the style that fit me from one of them.I wear a size 9 and usually need a wider toe box than most people because of all of my dancing and other high impact activities. Amazon recommended I get an 8 1/2 and so I did and I put these on and they were instantly comfortable. I danced an hour and a half the first time and then taught a class the second time, and they are just as comfortable as they were at first. It took a little getting used to to have a semi split sole, because at first it seemed that the heel was moving in the opposite direction of the ball of my foot. I am used to wearing more of a wedge soled sneaker or boots when I dance, but that sensation went away quickly, and these are a pleasure to dance in. I dance on wood and vinyl floors And these shoes are slippery without being dangerous so that I can easily make turns without feeling the stress on my knees. I love the venting on the black striped shoes I bought. What appears to be white stripes on the side is really open mesh and they keep my feet cool.I really wish the supplier would consider carrying a light gray shoe for summer because I want a light shoe to go with my light pants but white gets dirty way too fast dancing on the floors I dance on.
at the beginning they were amazing for work. i work at a theater so i am always on my feet. they are comfortable and flexible so you are able to do things. it is similar to jazz shoes if they had better comfort. after about a week and a hlaf though, the heel completely came of. this was disappointing
I love these shoes and I’m still surprised by the price. They are incredibly comfortable and hence my dance shoe of choice. For reference, I dance salsa and west coast swing. I have a few pair of “real” dance shoes (Latin heels and sneakers) that I spent a lot of money on, but these are still my go-to. I especially like them for social dancing when I don’t want to be bothered with changing shoes at the venue. My first pair was the white shoe and I liked them so much, I just bought the same in black. I wear a size 7.5 in sneakers and 7 in all other shoes. The 7 in the this shoe fit perfectly. Sometimes I wear them with socks and other times without depending on what pants I wear. They are still very comfy without socks! I can’t speak to how long they’ll hold up but the price is so good compared to others, I don’t care.
I love these dance sneakers! I wore them last night for the first time to the gym. I wanted to be able to do some ballet exercises in between use of the weight machines and these shoes were PERFECT! I purchased my normal shoe size 8.5 and they are very comfortable. I’ve worn split sole dance sneakers before and paid more for them only to have them fall apart at the soles. I practiced several ballet exercises and I had full range of movement. I studied and instructed ballet, jazz, modern dance for 20 years of my life, so I’m very familiar with how dance / ballet / jazz shoes should feel. These sneakers are VERY lightweight and comfortable when walking and gym floors are cement. They are lightweight and I could practice a full range of ballet exercises using a bar at the gym! I will determine, with time, how well these hold up and will edit this review if necessary. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE DANCE SNEAKERS!
