these replaced a less breathable, incorrect size, pair of work boots. i like that these are available in such a wide size- very few brands do super duper wide shoes! so i was able to get a better fit, go down a size and up a width.the construction (pun intended?) of these seems to be good. I've worn them to work for over six months, in construction, over all kinds of surfaces and in all weather conditions, and they've held up. mud, gravel... they do not have any protection against pictures though, beyond the thickness of the soles! i wouldn't want to step on a nail sticking up. it hasn't happened yet but i can feel enough of the texture and shape of the ground beneath me that i know there's no shank or anything. there is a steel toe though, which isn't just required by the contractors but also saved my toes from falling heavy/sharp things a few times!they also protect me from puddles: the waterproofing is good enough that I've been able to trudge through a few inches of water on the way into the site, which dislodged a bunch of mud without my feet or socks getting wet. i haven't tested them in deeper water or for longer than a few seconds though.these boots are moderately breathable. it takes a bit longer for the sweat humidity to build up in one's socks, compared to solid leather. it will happen, if the workday is long enough, but maybe by lunchtime instead of by mid-morning.the fact that these have fabric does make them potentially not allowed on some jobsites, because some contractors do require all-leather boots specifically. I've gotten questions but never been told they're the wrong type, but your miles may vary.

A tractor trailers needs big sturdy tires.
I am 6 foot 5 inches tall and weigh 350 pounds. I need strong and sturdy footwear and these boots/sneaker fit the bill.My feet are long, wide, and thick. These are the only boots/sneakers I feel comfortable in. On days when my feet are extremely swollen (due to various health problems) I can lace them very, very loose and the sides of the boot still stay firm and offer support.I'm far from being a dandy but I still like to look decent when I leave the house. These boots can stand up to months of daily medium duty household chores and still look almost new.I call these boots/sneakers because even though they look like giant tanks sitting on the floor, they look like normal sized sneakers when I'm wearing them. I wear them in the summer with shorts instead on sneaker and they look fine. They also provide the support a large man like myself needs.The last pair I had to get rid of is because the heels wore unevenly after many months of daily use. The rest of the boot looked barely worn.PS:I feel like rating them one star because they are constantly out of stock and I don't want to have to find another boot.....but it would be a sin to give these incredible fitting and wearing boots anything less than 5 STARS!PPS:I haven't been paid for this endorsement but I wouldn't object to being a paid spokesman because these are GREAT boots!

Comfortable, practical, and functional boots
These boots are fantastic! First of all, I am so glad that the size options offer a different widths. These were purchased for work (for a friend) and he was so surprised at how comfortable they are to wear for a full work day. He used these on wet surfaces and going in and out of a meat locker and he said they kept him warm, waterproof, and comfortable. It is also great that they come in more colors than just black.

Been wearing for a while now, plenty wide, which is actually hard for me to find, seem tough. The only negative at all is the insoles are a little stiff especially if you have to stand in one place all day. I would totally recommend these to anyone who needs a wide shoe. Still look good even after my cat got to them.Update, these lasted for about a year before the soles started coming apart, I don't know what you consider to be a good value but I think for this price they should still be able to be worn after a year. There are a few features of these shoes that are kind of cheap, the covering of the toe is very thin and weak, it tears pretty easy, there are a few other spots that have this thin material that is easily damaged. Still a good shoe but it could be either better or cheaper in my opinion.
