Fit is as with all other Propet boots

Over the years, I have purchased exclusively Propet Cliff Walkers; however, in the past six months, Propet has raised the price for the cliff walker boots from less than $90 to now over $114. So I decided to try a pair of these and was pleasantly surprised. The fit was identical (11 X-wide) they are very comfortable to hike in, even with NO break in period. Right out of the box to the trails of Shoshone National Forest. Now, I'll see how well they wear; especially, on concrete/black top surfaces. I'll try and come back and add to this review.Back with a wear update. So far, after many miles hiking dirt/rock trails as well as many, many miles walking on asphalt/concrete paths in the local parks I have NOT been able to wear out the heels. Usually, the outer part of the heel wears faster; however, with this boot, the soles are showing wear and the heel while showing wear still has some decent treat left on the outside of the heel. In fact, I believe this might be the first boot I have had that the heel will outlast the remainder of the sole and the upper part of the boot.

Good boots, fit a little tight.

I normally wear 4XE width shoes, so when I ordered these I ordered the 5XE width. They fit slightly tighter than my normal 4XE, but not Uncomfortably so.My daily 2 mile walk is taken on desert dirt roads consisting of hard pan, soft sand and gravel with undulating terrain. The boots held the terrain firmly, securely and comfortably.Very happy with my purchase.

3E Width runs more like a tight 2E

The width runs smaller than posted. It’s more of a standard wide (2E) than a 3E. My foot is at a measured 3E and it’s tight right on the ball of my foot and forward through the toes. It feels like it runs like a tight 2E. Due to the toe cap, I don’t see it stretching out at all. Return it is. Another style in the same brand runs accurate though, this model runs a bit narrower. The quality looks great though. Really wish it would have worked out.Update: Returned for the XX-Wide, again it runs small in the width, but maybe 1.5 E, so maybe the XX-wide is a 3-3.5E. These fit well enough but as with the narrower size, the toe cap pulls it in and doesn't give at all. The footbed is probably a 4E but that cap really cuts it down. I kept these and use them for 1/2 day work outdoors and they are fine. More than that I use a different more comfortable pair. They do have great ankle support, and are very steady pair of boots. Hopefully in the future they address the issues and update it.

not wide

It is a nice shoe but not for wide feet. I wear a 14 wide and ordered a 14 2x wide and was very tight. I returned it and bought it in a 5x width. Still very tight. Do not buy these if you have a wide foot.

Not as good as I first thought.

Originally I would have put these as a 5 easy however after 3 months of not daily use i have to lower the rating a lot. The toe box is a bit short and on the downhills I am doing, admittedly some of them fairly steep, my toes run into the end badly. This might have been sizing issue so I ignored it for a while, however other problems have shown up. The first is that the ankles constantly rub. No matter how tight or lose i lace them, they rub. The second, more expensive problem is that they are eating shoe laces like crazy. This is the third pair and they are both heavy duty and have been in less than a month and are showing visible fraying. Given how expensive laces can be, I decided to try different shoes, relegating these to the realm of casual shoes.

Crazy comfortable- X-wide is actually WIDE! Imagine that!

My absolute favorite pair of work boots I've ever had. I tried 7 pairs of $125-$200 high quality boots in supposed "x-wide" sizes and sent them all back for varying degrees of utter discomfort. I got these just taking a chance and was thrilled to discover my new go-to boots. I have a very wide foot but these 9½x-wides are absolutelyperfect and as described aka "extra wide". Unlike all of the Timberland Pros, Carhartts, and Wolverines I tried. I wear 9½ in length but usually have to buy 10-10½ or even 11 to accommodate the width, but not anymore. Waterproofing is terrific, feet barely sweat and only after long days in the sun, which is uncommon for waterproof/resistant pairs typically. I've gotten paint, joint compound, wood filler, primer, mud, and fox-tails/thistles/stickers on/in them and yet they cleaned up thoroughly each time. Even the fabric upper. Surprisingly the fabric doesn't fray easily as I assumed it might, and after 2 months of daily wear in every condition/ terrain you can think of, they still clean up well and look a week old. I will update my review at the 6 month mark to comment on how they hold up over time but I don't forsee any issues. Even if there were, I feel like they would still be worth it given the crazy good deal I got on them. Needless to say I am extremely happy with my purchase, and I would certainly reccomend them to anyone who doesn't specifically need a steel toe or an all leather boot.
