good fit but a little wider than expected

nice shoe seems well constructed. havent taken it out on a hike yet but assume it will perform good. not fond of the lace hooks on the top and prefer eye holes to thread through so the laces stay in place better...had a weird odor when coming out of the package ...kind of a tire smell ...the soles seem to have good tread and will be sure footed...i also really like the propet ridge walkers better but they are heavier and this shoe is more lightweight and might be better for summer weight although the soles claim to have an improved ice grip...

I won't buy Propet again

Pro:These shoes are actually as wide as advertised, not narrower than they claim to be (I'm looking at you New Balance everything not made in the US -- now almost everything, sadly).Cons:1) Fit like an inline or a hockey skate. Their hard plastic composition make your foot conform to the shoe, the shoes won't stretch, at all, for your foot.2) What makes that worse is the bulky and unforgiving fabric beneath the lace eyelets and its hard corner that protrudes exactly above your big toe knuckle, just where a little soft forgiveness is necessary. Ow!3) They're heavy as heck, besides.This was the first and last time I'll buy this brand.

when ordering wide shoe size (XX) shoe seems to be normal width

I ordered the XX size, which is supposed to be equivalent to EEE width. Unfortunately, the shoes seem to be of normal width, making them too narrow for my feet. I don't know if ordering the normal width would get you the same thing I got, or if it would get you a VERY narrow shoe.On the plus side, returning to amazon was trivial - pop it back in the box and drop off at the local whole-foods.
