I ordered these because I was looking for something that was easy to slip in and out of to wear on colder days. I have worn propet brand before and have been impressed with their style, comfort and durability. These booties do not disappoint. So far, (I've worn them only a few times), I love them. They fit perfectly, even with big socks, they look great and are supportive and warm. I highly recommend!!
Somehow, this winter boot appears to visually slim my foot. That's just a bonus, though, because they fit great, are comfortable to wear for hours on end and look attractive. I usually wear insert arch supports, but I didn't have them with me during my travels, but I didn't notice any problems with plantar fascitis. I like the tread, which seem to help walking in wet or snowy weather. So happy I got these. Another bonus - the side zipper. You can adjust the laces as desired, then just get quickly in and out of the boots via the zipper.
This is a good quality, comfy shoe. It has the widest and most foot-shaped toe box of many similar boots I've tried. I'm returning it because I just really like a more accommodating toe box, like barefoot shoes have. If you're not a member of the barefoot shoe cult, these are great comfort boots. The ankle part is really cushioning and doesn't rub, the zipper is strong, and the adjustability of the laces is really nice. Flexible, grippy sole. Pretty color/texture.
I previously bought a taller version of these boots and LOVE them. Durable, comfortable, great for walking all day in the big city, warm and dry enough for even nasty winter weather. So I bought this pair for my mother who has painful feet that are difficult to fit.The sizing is probably a bit generous- plus they come with a spacer (this is so clever!) which is perfect when one foot is slightly longer than the other, but not enough to size up. She is a 9.5 to a 10 and the 9.5 was perfect. She requires a wide toebox and has a high instep--but had no difficulty getting the shoes on thanks to the handy dandy side zipper. Nice grip and cushion, too. A little scotch-guard and these are ready for a long walk out of the box- no breaking in needed.Appearance wise, these be worn for many occasions, so they are ideal for travel. Though some might think they are not the most fashionable, I think they are classic.These are also a bargain if you can get them on sale. This won't be my last pair of Propet shoes and I highly recommend them for those with "foot issues" or difficulty with sizing.
Nine extra wide, black suede. One nice fact about these boots is the side zipper. However, the pair that I received has 1 inch of the flap inside the zipper torn away from the shoe. I am not sure if this is a rip or a bad sewing. It is, however a quality control issue. I was surprised that the laces do not stay as well tied as I expected so there will be knotting to keep them tight The heel counters are a bit stiff, but that’s expected with brand new boots I like the fabric at the back at the top of the boot, it’s nice and comfortable. I think the arch support is minimal but I do have other arch supports. I can insert. Personally, I do find the ankle is a bit more narrow than I expected, and the front of the shoe a bit wider However, …..Seeing as I have incredibly hard feet to fit and seeing as I live outside of Buffalo New York, where we just had a massive blizzard and I was without boots, I am going to keep these, but if it was it some other time of the year and I wasn’t afraid of more snow? I’m not sure I would be keeping them. I would be returning them for a non-defective pair. I don’t think it’s a massive defect if it’s only the inside of a zipper but I will have to be careful when I put them on and zip them up . Whether it’s quality control that resulted in me getting a pair of boots with a zipper flap that was defective or whether it was someone having them before me? Sorry that’s what lost you stars. I expect better from you Propet! I have several other pair of your shoes, and I love them, and the size is the same and these are not exactly what I consider true to size. It all boils down to one thing: when you live in a blizzard/snow/winter/area? you have to have boots these will work for this year. Hopefully I will love them. I’m just sad that I got a pair with a defect.
These shoes are fantastic! I wore them to Salem, MA during our late September trip, where it rained on our first night. They were not too heavy in my carry-on, held up great in the rain and my feet stayed dry. They looked cute with jeggings as well as with my maxi dresses. We walked all over the city and my feet didn't have any hot spots, or rubbing, or any of the usual shoe pains that come with a full day of walking. I usually have to go up a size and put in comfort insoles but I didn't have to do any of that with these. Plenty of room for comfy socks and cushion on the inside. I have a very low arch, and these did not dig into the middle of my foot like most orthopedic shoes do, and my toes were able to splay comfortably. I did not experience any stiffness nor squeaks. I want to get more pairs and in multiple colors! (But I got them at a sale price, so I hope there's another good sale). I'm more than satisfied.
Not true to size. The 10 wide fits like a 10 medium/regular width. There is a cardboard liner underneath the insert. See attached picture. If you step in winter slush, this cardboard liner will get wet and ruined. I expect better quality for a leather shoe.
