Very Nice (Unless You Have Narrow Feet); There's A Good Reason Why These Do Not Have Steel Toes!

These boots are really, really nice and very comfortable. I wasn't sure if I would like the side zipper, but it works well. The "pull-on" loop on the back is helpful. But if you have narrow feet you will find your feet swim in the forefoot unless you "pad" with additional (or thick) socks. If Reebok would make a "narrow" version (these "medium width" boots felt very much like "wide" boots), then we would have a SIX-star review. I've found that the 5.11 Men's Taclite 8" Boot is a better fit for my narrow feet (they are equally as comfortable, but lack the zipper). Size of these Reebok boots is about 1/2 size big (I wear size 11, but needed a 10.5 in the Reeboks (the 5.11 Taclite boots ran true: I wear 11 and the boots were an 11)).The zipper makes all the difference in what boot lace-up system is used. You'll note that the 5.11 Taclite boots use eyelets in the fabric while the Reeboks use plastic eyelets. If the Reeboks didn't have the zipper I would not ever touch them because the plastic eyelets are a highly possible point of failure. Given that most will lace up the Rebooks and leave them laced (using the zipper to take off and put on the boot) this is not too much of an issue (ergo, no plastic eyelets on the 5.11 Taclite boots). One other observation. Reviewers have complained that there is no steel toe but that the boots are advertised as safety boots. This is neither misleading nor incorrect. Yes, they are safety boots and yes they do not have a steel toe. But the product literature tells you that Reebok chose to not use steel so that there would be no issue with metal detectors, etc. In any event, the toe may not be steel, but it still seems to offer significant protection. In the end, if you're a lumberjack or the like and need real steel toe protection then these are not the boots for you. But if you are a soldier (etc.) these are perfect boots (and as a former armored vehicle crewman I can tell you not having steel toes is a plus: I remember having a pair of steel-toed boots and they helped my feet to freeze in the winter and roast in the summer).Reebok has done really, really well in these boots. If only they would make a narrow foot version!

Light weight with great support. Only 5 days into them and break ...

Light weight with great support. Only 5 days into them and break in was fast and they are now fitting well. Excellent traction and I can easily drive in them. Like the non metallic but they could use the toe cap protection. But I knew going in they did not so I won't hold that against Reebok. Time will tell but they seem to work well in the "moon dust" of Kandahar. I like that the Zipper is a straight pull. My last boots had a curved zipper and that is where they failed. These pop on and off like sneakers and are very comfortable. I did ad a Dr Scholl's active sports insert to them and I think its better that the standard one they use.

I cannot kill these things!

I have had these boots for 8 years. They are not daily wear, I am a professional computer geek. I do however ride a motorcycle, at times up to 1000 miles a day. I do some hiking, I wear them on the gun range. I abuse these boots. The only thing i did to them was I painted over the toe with tan bedliner and I replaced the laces with parachute cord. I did both before I ever put them on. They are super comfortable, I have wide feet 4E, and lately I have had some swelling in my feet, the worst I had to do was loosen up and adjust the laces and it was fine. If I had any complaint it would be that I want the safety toe boots and I did not buy them instead. I will buy the safety toe when these are finally done. I may donate them to charity because I am sick of waiting.

My favorite boots!

These are great boots! They are not quite as comfortable as their Converse predecessors but close. There are some irregularities in both boots, as in "low spots," where the interior of the sole is attached to the sides of the boot. I stuffed some of my wife's makeup wedges into those spots and put the insoles back in. Works great but should not be necessary. More attention should be given to the assembly of the boots.Beyond careless construction, I love these boots and have recommended them to everyone looking for comfortable work boots.

A Great Tactical Book

I have been wearing these boots for about 3 months. The break-in was very easy; more like with a sport shoe than a boot. After the short break-in period, the boots are very comfortable. Maybe the most comfortable tactical boot I have owned (Rothco, Blackhawk, Danner). After 3 months there is no appreciable sign of wear. The side zipper makes for very easy on and off. These boots have good ankle support. The cushioning is soft but sturdy. During the hotter days the boots do get warm; not uncomfortably so. All in all an excellent boot; lightweight, rugged and versatile.

Achilles heel spurs

I have Achilles heel spurs on my right heel and the boots seem to give me enough room so that my foot doesn’t hurt at the end of the day. I also have added an insert on top of the one already in the boot and works for me. I have minimal pain at the end of a full workday. This was money well spent, I’m going to buy a second pair since not many shoes or boots work for me. I had originally bought the Nortiv8 and those immediately caused pain at The back of my heel while working, walking or driving. I bought the soft toe version. I hope this helps.
