I add inserts Because I have plantar fasciitis but I can work a 16 hour shift on my feet and forget I have plantar fasciitis. Plus these boots last longer than other brands I've tried. Love them and I've been buying them for 5 years.
Amazon advertizes this as man’s boot but What I received was women’s size. It was so small, I could not even try it.

This was a second purchase of these boots. I loved the first pair and recently sliced one open while working outside, so I decided to get the same boots since the original pair fit perfectly and was well constructed. When I received the second pair the quality of leather was not good. Seems thinner. There was little to no padding on the tongue or sole , they were NOT the same size as the original pair despite ordering the exact same thing. They were huge. I don't know if they were mis-sized or if production has changed, but I had to return them for a refund. Even if I were to get a smaller size, I wouldn't want these boots with the clear decline in quality. So disappointed.

Runs large. This is a light weight boot but very bulky. It felt like my foot was wrapped in massive amounts of bubble wrap and material. May need to order on half size smaller than typical size.
