Shoes/Sneakers

Got this for a dear friend that only will where these shoes . Quality is good , style is good for an older person , slip resistance cause he hasn’t had any issues . True to size unless older where as your feet flatten out due to arch starts to flatten . With my friend he was a size ten but now a ten wide .

Incredible walking shoes

They are a good value especially considering that they are leather. Took a while to break in, which is why only 4 stars. Very stiff out of the box, but definitely improved a lot after a few days of use. Comfortable for walking on pavement and ok to use all day long. Very nice quality. I expect to be using these for a long time to come. After using for a few months, I've come back and changed my rating. 5 stars!!!!! These are great for city walking. Love them. I have many kinds of sneakers, and these are far and away the best for walking on hard city pavement. I love the feel of the soles. Just incredible. Highly recommended!

A Great Value for Comfort and Durability

This is my second pair of the Pro Walkers. The first pair were very comfortable and had an amazing life. These were a bit stiff at first but after 2 days they feel great. The fit was great and the workmanship as well. These are just as comfortable for all day wear as the first pair. I expect I will be as pleased this time as the first time. Other walking shoes I have purchased lasted only 2-3 years at most and did not offer the comfort of these.Ordering from Amazon assured a great price and speedy deliver (free shipping) despite adverse weather conditions that were occurring. Overall, a satisfying experience. If these last as long as the first pair (7+years) I will be very very happy.Update August 2016 I have reduced my rating to 4 stars. The stitching on one of the toe pieces has started to come undone Otherwise, the shoes still are in excellent shape despite several hundred miles of walking on hard pavement on them.

Rockport didn't change, I did!

I walk a lot. More than 1,000 miles a year in most years. And, I've been loving this style Rockport (under several model nos.) for the past 18+ years. Some years ago, I experienced plantar fasciitis, and began to use these shoes without the Rockport insoles but with hard orthotics and thin foam insoles. That met the support needs for my abnormally high arch, but, over time, I noticed that the shoes were less comfortable, with or without the orthotics. I read some reviews on Amazon by people who claimed that Rockport had changed a once good shoe for the worse. One consistent complaint seemed to be that the fit was too small. At that time, I was struggling with an ingrown toenail, and my feet became sensitive to a perception that the show size I that worn for so long was too short. So, I moved from an 11EE to an 11-1/2EE, and voila. The fit was again perfect, with no need ever for the orthotics. Maybe Rockport did change their sizing last? But, as I read online about foot health, I discovered that feet continue to grow as we age. Maybe it was reasonable that my feet had grown 1/2 size in 18 years. I don't really know, but I know that this shoe is as comfortable as it ever was. And, I can walk forever without any foot pain whatsoever, without my orthotics. This is a blessing for me, as I am legally blind and haven't driven in 20 years.

The box they came in would be more comfortable

These are terrible. Absolutely the worst footwear I've ever put on in my 40 years of wearing shoes.I genuinely can not understand the other reviewers that say "just need a little breaking in" because these are literally MORE stiff than the corrugated cardboard box they shipped in, and within 2 steps you can tell that IF/ WHEN they "break in" it's going to be not a nice, smooth, gradual wearing down to flexibility and comfort, but a catastrophic BREAK somewhere around the toes - like violently snapping a pizza box in half to force it into a too-small trash can.And while I try not to be TOO judgy about appearances, these are such a sad, depressing, SICKLY off-white that it's actually upsetting. They do NOT match their photos here - there's a far more jaundiced, yellow look to them in person; like they spent 40 years in mothballs at a retirement center slowly yellowing with neglect and disappointment. They even *smell* like an underfunded retirement home, one across the street from a tire-store.Literally the only good thing I can say about them is that the soles seem very sturdy - thick, solid, probably last ages. NOT cushy, comfortable or nice for walking on - I'd rather take my chances with the brown paper used to fill out the shipping box, shoved inside that same box, than walk any distance in these things. I genuinely think there's a 50/50 chance of getting a similar level of blisters wearing these as going barefoot. All hyperbole aside, I was so upset when I tried these on I literally THREW them off my feet after less than 30 seconds of putting them on.
