Great Sandals (Maybe the best ever!)
I tried on quite a number of sandals in my local stores. These were the most comfortable and affordable that I found. I have worn Dockers sandals in the last few years, but they have always fallen apart (especially the foot bed and the sole getting cracked) rather quickly. These Rockports seemed of a higher quality. I found a lower price on Amazon and bought them. So far, I absolutely love them. Super comfortable right from the start. I like the real leather that doesn't have that plastic look.As for long term quality, I'll have to report back later this summer.Additional note (8/6/19) - I've now worn these sandals every day since I received them. I work at home so I wear them all day every day. They almost look new! The foot bed of the sandal is probably the best made foot bed I've ever had. Other sandals always show wear, tear and holes in the foot bed, but not these Rockports. They stand up to the punishment my toes and feet offer. The soles of the sandals also seem built to last as they haven't cracked or worn down very much.Everybody's feet are different so comfort may be good for one person and not good for another. For me, though, these are most likely the most comfortable sandals that I've worn in the last 40 years. They fit so well that my foot doesn't slip and slide inside the sandal which helps slow down wear and makes them comfortable all day long. I don't find any areas where it feels as if something is poking me, is too tight or is too loose. The overall support is just perfect.I feel like these sandals may last for two seasons if not three. Still, I might buy another pair to put away for the day that these super-sandals wear out.Additional note (8/3/22) - The verdict is in: Rockport Men's Darwyn Quarter Strap Sandal is the GOAT sandal. I'm now on year 4 with these sandals and they're still going great. They look almost as good as the first time I wore them and I wear sandals every day for about 5 months out of the year. I finally noticed a small worn spot on the footbed caused by one of my toes. I fully expect to wear them for the remainder of the summer, but I ordered a new pair for next year when the worn spot becomes a hole. Incredible!

Rockport Darwyn Leather Sandal
First & foremost, the Truetech insole of these sandals are noticeably high quality comfort straight out of the box. The leather straps are also well padded & have ample length to attach or adjust for comfort.These sandals, like most Rockport shoes, run a bit narrow so a wide-width has always made for a secure, comfortable fit for me in 11w.If you like Rockport Truetech products I don't think one could be disappointed with this premium leather product considering the cost.

Not the "old" Rockports---
Returning the sandals today...my husband has two other pair of these sandals in wide, and they are/were wonderful. These are going back because someone chintzed on the length of strap for the near the toes (upper) strap, so even with velcro "wide" is meaningless. A real shame as these Rockport sandals are excellent: for the want of a small bit of extra length in the strap they are useless, way too tight.

Great footbed, bad design
PROS: GREAT footbed, super comfortable. Toe straps are great, love the instep strap - this is one of the few sandals I've ever had that had an top strap that I didn't have to tighten to it's maximum with only a sliver of velcro to hold them down. Whoever designed this sandal had normal feet, unlike the typical giants that most sandals seem created for, and I was able to use the entire strap.The sandal is REALLY slippery on tile when it's new, but once you walk around the block and wear off the new finish, it grips indoor tile and wood floors just fineCONS: When are sandal makers going to STOP PUTTING THAT *&^ING TAG ON THE INSIDE OF THEIR SANDALS?! It rubs, you idiots! For the first hour, it's fine, but once anyone starts sweating a little bit, interior tags ALWAYS start rubbing off skin.Adding to the annoyance: the footbed has stitching where your foot falls, meaning you're going to notice it every time you take a step for a *long* time until your foot builds calluses or you wear down the stitching, whichever comes first. It boggles my mind that they still do this in high-end sandals. For the price, Rockport is competing against Teva, Merrell, and discounted/end of season Ecco - YOU CAN'T PULL THIS CHEAP CRAP ON EXPENSIVE SANDALS. Footbeds should seamlessly span the entire sandal footbed, any cost-cutting cheap tricks like dual footbeds with stitching belong on sandals that cost 1/3 of these

Great fit and comfort
Great sandals, sad my local store closed, but glad I can still get these great sandals, comfortable and easy to wear. Last about two years before I had to buy another pair. But more has to do with my wear and feet than anything else. So no complaints, good support and help with pains from walking bare foot in the house, wear these instead and good to go.
