Personally, this healthcare provider is a fan...your feet may thank you for trying.

It's SO hard to find a sneaker of any kind that isn't mostly EVA in the sole...which is NOT enough support for me. I generally wear 8.5 in sneakers, and take a 9 in a more dressy shoe or boot. These fit me perfectly with one caveat: I like to put an over-the-counter orthotic in my shoes. I find most insoles flimsy and have a moderate arch, but the soles of my feet tend to get cranky after wearing unsupportive shoes for more than a couple of hours...I'm prone to plantar fasciitis. These Prowalkers have a big sole and are pretty lightweight for their size, but they still feel supportive and substantial enough to take my tall person weight all day at the clinic for 10+ hours. I find it really easy to walk briskly through the clinic in them and feel they even help my postural mechanics a bit. I was contemplating knocking a star off for the insert, but it's still well made (as far as inserts) and I think it may be designed that way on purpose knowing that the bulk of their customer base may be putting in an orthotic of their own. I like them so much, I went back and purchased three more pairs in different colors. No regrets.

Great shoes

My husband has been wearing these for years which means he's purchased many pair. The only disappointed in this pair is that his favorite gray wasn't available. Maybe next time. Otherwise, the comfortable is still there and they appear to be as durable as ever.

For those on the fence, my 2 cents...

I typically love Rockport and Frye brands in high heeled boots (3+ inch) and wear a 6.5 in both. These are so comfortable that I can actually run in them if needed, and I can walk over 8 hours with ease. In these brands, I also wear 6.5 in other high heeled shoes. I have high arches. In open back shoes, generally flats and slides in brands like Clarks, Easy Spirit and Under Armour flip flops I wear a size 6, and 6.5 in closed shoes. In Merrell hiking and trail style boots & shoes, I wear a size 6.5. For athletic shoes I generally wear a 6.5 (New Balance, Asics) and Propet I can wear a 6 or 6.5 typically, depending on flex of soles. This is the first time getting a walking shoe in Rockport. I went with my typical size in New Balance (6.5) although Amazon recommended a size 6. This Premium Prowalker shoe does look rather big in person. --Just to give a heads up, but this is mainly due to the outer sole. The fit is rather good, but the back heel is a bit wide for my narrow heels. I could have gotten a 6, especially if I planned on wearing thin socks/liners (like Goldtoe). I chose to keep these for wearing with thicker sport socks. This eliminates the back heel issue.Generally, I am not a fan of walking sneakers. They tend to be way too thick inside, have very hard soles compared to running and training shoes, and they tend to be bulky and heavy. These Rockports are super lightweight, in my opinion (almost twice the weight of Propet travel walkers, which are extremely light and about half the weight of my last pair of New Balance walking sneakers). The outer soles are thick in appearance, but inside is not overstuffed. My high arches can handle the inner sole/footbed, but these aren't as supportive as let's say Rockport high heeled boots and shoes. The toe box gives plenty of wiggle room. Overall, I am liking the Prowalker. I will most likely wear these more in cooler months, since I prefer sandals in the summers. The traction is very good on these, and they should do well walking along dirt roads and wet sidewalks.

Very comfortable shoe

These are very comfortable walking and everyday shoes. I live in AZ and they are not hot on the feet. For me, there was no break in period, just put them on and go. I have had other Rockports over the last few decades and am very pleased with them.

Comfortable & Non slip soles

I love these shoes. They are very comfortable and soft. The arch support is great. These are non slip shoes which we can all benefit from. The color is beautiful and I'm very happy.

Left shoe has embarrassing squeak that is clearly a manufacture's defect.

This shoe has a noticeable, embarrassing squeak. It is only the left shoe. I have cleaned the sole multiple times and the squeak remains and can be readily heard on all surfaces. I thought that it might works itself out but has not in the six weeks I have had them. I am not pleased with this product.

Good shoes. Run larger than expected

These shoes have a really good reputation and the pro walkers are no exception. These shoes are truly wide and do run larger than expected. I will have to go half size down and regular width but overall I think I will like these for walking. The soles are very thick and seen to offer good support for my flat feet. Can’t wait to get the replacements
