comfortable, high quality and durable shoe

This is my second pair, they are comfortable and durable, the first pair has lasted me a few years of regular use. These were priced competitively so I bought another pair.

For a regularly $200 pair of shoes, I expected better

Prime Day purchase 2022, though I don't recall exact date and didn't catch it before updating the review. I've had them what, about 5 or 6 months now?Updates at the end of this review. Original text follows.-------------I wore* these for a few hours today. Maybe my laces were too tight (I didn't think so) but now my right foot has a mild pain right in the center. I don't have foot pain typically, rarely in fact, so this is definitely something to do with the shoes. Also, they have almost zero traction on flooring that isn't perfectly dry. I almost did a faceplant into my kitchen floor while wearing them yesterday because there was a small amount of water spilled on the floor. Fortunately the other foot still had enough traction that I could correct myself. Then today at a restaurant with tile floors, on which I've never had a problem in other shoes, my feet were sliding around like the floor was greasy (but it honestly might have been, it's just never been a problem before and I've been dining there for over a decade). It's possible that after wearing them a while, the soles might scuff enough to have better grip on the floors, but that shouldn't be necessary, especially on a regularly $200 pair of boots.I do wish there were two pairs of speedlace hooks instead of only one, as the reason for them with me is to easily get the shoes on and off, and having only one pair of speedlace hooks isn't that big of an improvement over regular eyelets as two pairs would be, and from a design perspective, it's a trivial difference. These were listed as regularly $200 but I got them on prime day for more than half off. Makes it a little easier pill to swallow if I don't decide to return them. Haven't had them long enough to decide yet.Otherwise they're okay, but I mean, a boot's a boot when your job has you in the office. I just hope the break room floor is dry.----------UPDATE 2022-07-24 -- Added a star.So I wore these a full week at work, and after rethinking how snugly the laces were pulled, I was able to retighten the lacing in a way that was both secure and comfortable. The foot pain did not return all week, so it must have been how tightly they were laced. They still are not the most comfortable boots I've ever worn, but I believe now that they will simply have to go through a break-in period like some of the more expensive, high quality boots require. However, they're still a little slippery on wet flooring and I'm not comfortable wearing them in such environments (particularly on the wet tile of the office lobby when it's rainy outside). If that improves over time I'll try to remember to update this review.---------+UPDATE 2022-10-13: Updated to add photo of the branding patch coming off. Really annoying considering it's nothing but cosmetic yet required weakening of the shell to integrate it in and now it's pulling off by itself. Also added photo of sole wear. However, the slipperiness has subsided (or at least I don't notice it any more) and they've definitely broken in. The soles still have the design on them, indicating a harder rubber, I suppose, and possibly why they were so slippery at first. But again, I'm a mostly office worker so they don't get used outside on pavement much. They'll do, but I don't think they're worth the original non-Prime asking price of $200.

Fantastic, stylish, comfy boots....

It's been a long time since I've purchased Rockport, but this was a great buy. Boots are definitely waterproof but seem more breathable over other brands that leave socks wet and sweaty. Looks great, feels great, functions great...
