Top notch boot. Deserves 10 stars!

Top notch boots!!!... First of all I am a paramedic in an are with insanely high call volume and I'm in my tenth year. I've been through some good boots (bates, thourogood) and some bad boots( magnum, 5:11) so this time I tried what seemed to me by description and appearance a very good all-around work boot. I am beyond satisfied and continuously impressed by these boots. They are very well made and fit as I expected. They are very sharp when in uniform and the comfort level is second to none. I am thrilled that they are not nearly as heavy as I thought they would be and the composite toe is a great safety feature along with a bonus to ensure the boot stays in proper form. All I had to do was polish them very lightly and put an on.... These are hands down, no questions asked, the absolute best boot I have ever put on my feet, especially for EMS. I noticed a few lunatics with poor reviews on these boots, my advice is pay no attention to them they have obviously lost their minds. The strong and long list of protective features this boot has plus the comfort and affordability makes Rocky First Med boots are the boots you want. Your search is over, congrats!.

nice fit, plenty of cushion

nice fit, plenty of cushion, nice long laces, good ankle support. the only thing is that the first eyelet has already torn loose from where it was sewn in but not enough of a problem to send them back. although they look heavy the composite toe is much better than steel toe and i dont feel clumsy in them

zipper digs a hole into your leg - a true deal breaker

This is almost the perfect boot if not for the top of the zipper wearing a hole into my leg.I decided to break them in with a 4 mile walk and discovered half way that the pain was excruciating. The way that the top of the zipper curves into your leg is a horrible design flaw.Other people complained about it in reviews, but I thought I could handle it.. not the case...Unzipping it or making the top very tight seems to deflect the zipper enough to make it slightly more bearable, but I've found myself just not using them now and 10 days later, I still have the scar from it on my left leg (and not on the right for some reason).Other than that, it is the perfect boot.my feet sweat more than Bates GX-8, but then again the GX-8 seemed like it kept my feet more dry than tennis shoes and this is fine as it still wicks the moisture away.. just don't expect to take your foot out at the end of the day and get foot rub offers from your buddies... at the same time, you won't be getting the floor wet with your wet socks (barely).the puncture resistance puts my mind at ease - i've had too many close calls with nails on my bates GX-8 which eventually let moisture somewhere into the shoe as a result.although i prefer a composite toe, i really like the carbon fiber toe because it just makes me feel special.the reflectors are nice to have and not too distracting unless a car is facing you which is great.for some, they might feel bulky. i felt like i could run around in my GX-8s but not these... or maybe i'm just getting old. regardless, i wouldn't go back to the gx-8 because i need that puncture resistance.overall, i can't recommend them because of the ZIPPER DIGGING INTO MY LEG.

These are some of the worst i have ever had

i have been a firefighter for 16yrs, and an academy instructor for 9yrs, and tried my share of differnt station boots throughout my carreer. Thought i would take a gamble on these. ...These are some of the worst i have ever had. Do not buy them, you will regret it. Yes they look cool and differnt...but they suck. The left and right boots dont feel like they are the same boot. My feet felt terrible after having them on even for just 15mins. The tounge design will make you scratch your head in its stupidity. The quality is piss poor, and there are so many parts of the inside of this boot that dig into your skin that you will cuss yourself for buying them. After a month the inside crappy stitching is already fraying and the inside material already feels worn out which further digs into your heel. There is absalutley no sole cushining or heel and arch support, so you might as well make a pair of flat wood sandles out of 2x4's and wear those. Dont waste your money on these.
