Great boot, but requires break in period

I decided to give the Rocky’s a go after wearing out my Reebok boots. They arrived in perfect brand new condition but was initially worried about the the stiffness of the leather as it was uncomfortable to wear as it was tight and above the top of my feet making long walks rather painful throughout the day. After about a month they became very comfortable to wear. They hold well in the rain, no leaks. Apply the proper leather conditioners to this boot before it rains and you won’t have to worry about water or anything wet. These boots have a comfortable insole and I found no need to switch it out. It holds up better than the Reebok boots. Would definitely buy againUpdate: so after about a year of daily use, my boots are looking very worn, I will admit that I did not condition the boots daily as there are now holes in the sides due to the leather going through wet and dry seasons. The bottoms are now smoothing out, losing the grip. Overall it’s still comfortable to wear for daily use. I imagine I can run these for a couple more seasons until the rain comes but overall still the best postal shoes for the money, I think if I kept up with the maintenance and conditioning the leather may last much longer without cracking. I will be getting these boots again.

Comfortable, with a minor drawback

Purchased these to replace a pair of Reebok boots that were worn down. These boots fit nice; only drawback is the top portion of the boot does not fit tight around my average ankle/bottom calf so leaves and debris fall inside. Waterproofing is holding up nice as my feet haven't gotten wet yet.

Good boots

Keep the shoe laces loose when first putting on the boot. They'll feel tight. You have to break in the boot. Once broken into, they are comfortable. The sole is cushioned and soft so it'll wear out eventually. I like that the ankle is supported.

the 1st pair I bought a year ago & have been great & I bought them through rocky directly

I work for USPS and this boot is designed to fit our needs. This is my 2nd pair, the 1st pair I bought a year ago & have been great & I bought them through rocky directly. The 2nd pair I bought amazon & within 2 days of having this pair the sole of the boot where the leather meets the rubber separated & the rubber fell apart. Not happy with the 2nd pair at all, but thankful that rocky has a 1year guarantee & amazon is sending me another pair. Hopefully that pair was a bad batch & hoping the next pair will keep me happy with the rocky brand.

Not what I wanted

They arrived a day late,I'm sure it was the post office at fault. The boots looked OK, I was not happy about the fit. They are true to size and I ordered them to big. While I was wearing them I didn't feel any cushion, felt like I was standing on a concrete floor. Otherwise I'm sure they are good quality. I returned them just because I do alot of walking and getting up and down throughout the day.

Okay but heel is too shallow.

The toes, the width, and the arch support were all fine. My problem was in the depth of the heel. The shallowness allowed my heel too much room to move and as a result in about 3 weeks I have already worn a hole through the lining and padding of the boot. I am a postalCarrier and walk about 13 miles a day in them.If you try them on and notice your heel has any movement when you walk, return/don’t buy. They will not break in correctly. Otherwise not a bad boot.
