Okay boots for the price
These boots were purchased for my son, who is bigger than average for his age, and extremely hard on shoes. When I was his age, thanks to my grandfather being retired military, I was given my first pair of boots similar to these because I too was very hard on shoes. Having this experience already I figured to do the same for my son.He has worn them for a eleven months now, which for him is amazing. The leather is still in good condition, the nylon has held and there isn't a single stitch that has been worn out by constant use. However, I'm a bit disappointed with the soles because they have worn quickly when compared with other brands. I myself have been wearing the same pair of Wellco Jungle boots for 3 years every day and the soles of mine, though worn do not look anything like his. His literally have gouges missing on the heel and the toe is almost worn smooth. Still for an active child whose hard on shoes, when considering the price I've got to give 5 stars.

Not the shoe they used to be
The shoe lasted roughly 2 months before it started separating from the rubber sole. Hubs had same pair that lasted for double digit years and needed a replacement pair only because the soles were wore down so much. These were not worn every day and just normal walking conditions. No snow, rain or mud. He said they are still as comfortable as the old pair but for price paid two months is unacceptable. Heck that’s unacceptable no matter what you pay for shoes. And, of course, they didn’t start to fall apart u til the return window was closed.

Lightweight boots for occasional use

Quality Control issues boots at least a size smaller than marked.
I haven't worn anything but combat boots as my everyday footwear since 1991, and I have owned several pairs of Rothco boots in that time. They are not as good as Bellville, but they are decent. The difference is that with proper care, these are suitable for 18-24 months, whereas Bellville lasts 48-60 months as your primary shoes. Anyway, I have been size 12 mens since I was 16, it didn't matter if it was gym shoes, wrestling shoes, or boots, I have been a size 12. Unfortunately, Rothco's quality is slipping, as the size 12 boots I ordered were about 1/4 inch too short in the toe box, and the entire boot was noticeably shorter than the size 12 boots they were replacing. They are a decent boot for the price, but do have occational quality control issues, Amazon took them back.

Great boots, just don't walk through creeks or bogs
I think this is my second or third pair over the years. I prefer the Panama sole as it's very quiet and doesn't tend to hold debris, and these are one of the few boots that feature them besides my original Altamas which are pretty pricey nowadays. Very comfortable and I really like the speed-lace eyelets. While I don't wear them daily, I have noticed that they're best used with a supportive aftermarket insole when on my feet all day in the field. While not too hot in the desert in summer, I don't recommend walking through creeks as that definitely hastened the demise of my last pair after a year of use. So far, I've followed that philosophy and this current pair is approaching two years.

beautiful
these boots fit amazingly and go here two days before they were supposed to! they are a really good weight and are well ventilated. i haven't done any training in them yet, but they are not bad to walk in. the boots run big on the sizing, so buy a size smaller than what you wear for a tennis/ running shoe. there was no problem with mine when i received them and the packaging was normal. cardboard shoe box inside a normal cardboard shipping box. i'll write another review after a go through some training with them on and let anyone interested know how they are. right now the boots are at 5/5.EDIT: Okay so i've gone through some training now and these boots are pretty good. they are comfortable breathable and the weight is definitely not an issue. I wore them all day and there wasn't any discomfort for me! these boots are great still 5/5!
