Great trail shoes
These trail shoes are super comfortable and will be perfect for my upcoming trip which will include some light hiking. I ordered 2 sizes - 7.5 and 8. I have purchased several types of shoes from Ryka in the past, and they all have lots of cushion and good arch support. They are my favorite walking shoes. They are all size 8, but these trail shoes were slightly longer in the size 8, but too short for me in the 7.5. Since feet swell as the day goes on, and I can always wear a thicker sock if necessary, I kept the 8. Rykas are perfect, especially if you are prone to plantar fasciitis as I am.

Wide toe box
Great shoe with a really wide toe box. It was actually wider than I have ever had in a tennis shoe. I have a wide, flatter foot, and these are COMFORTABLE! Turns out they are GREAT for hiking, work, pretty much anything other than sports with lots of lateral movements like tennis.

Very comfortable all day long.
Sometimes, old-school laceups work best in terms of customizing support for my foot shape (narrow, with high arch). After giving these shoes a day-long test drive with thin anklets, can say I love them. Plenty of toe room, no discomfort with rubbing in odd places, the tongue is thin enough and high enough, they're flexible, very cushiony, and the laces stay put. Haven't worn them in nature yet, but they appear to have good traction so expect they'd be great for walking/hiking outside. Glad to have these.

Like walking on air
I bought a 10 which is my true size and it fits perfectly. I wore them for an hour hike and there was absolutely no break in period. They were so comfy right out of the box. This is my first pair of Rykas and it certainly won’t be my last. I was an Asics gal but these are far better. They tout themselves as being made especially for a woman’s foot and that seems spot on in both the width and comfort padding. I have never worn a trail shoe with so much bounce in the sole. It is remarkable. I actually WANT to go for a hike. It’s like walking on a cloud.One star taken away because the shoelaces are ridiculously long. Even when double knotted both ends touch the ground.

Non functional design
Shoelace “eyelets” aren’t real. The laces are just held in place by more shoelace material that came unglued the first time I wore the shoes. Three previous pairs of Ryka trail shoes were great. I can’t imagine why this model has this design
