Very nice but not milspec

These are a good deal and VERY comfortable. Just be aware that these are not real combat boots. They are not AR670-1 compliant. But at this price point, you shouldn't expect them to be. Nor should you expect a good, tough work boot. No steel toe and the material probably won't stand up to hard use. But it is the price point that make these such a good deal.I wear a 12 & 1/2 regular. Very difficult to find. I ordered a pair of these in 12 reg and find they are a perfect fit. So count on yours being approx a 1/2 size larger that what you order. I don't think they would last long out in the bush. The mesh part of the upper probably won't stand the scrapping and wear that hard use imposes. And they are not and can not be made water proof. But I believe they would be perfect for day hiking or those times when you're gonna be on your feet all day. Especially on concrete or pavement. Like a day at an amusement park or fair. They are considerable lighter weight than my issue combat boots. But I do have 2 complaints. I bought these believing I won't have to tie the laces every time. Just pull them on and zip up. Nope. Don't work that way. You don't have to unlace to pull them off. Just unzip. But to put them on and get a good, tight fit, you will have to loosen the laces, pull them on, zip up and then tie the laces back tight. In that order. I also wish these were available in Coyote Brown. But in the short 2 weeks I've had these, I have been very happy with the purchase. And delivery was exceptionally fast. Ordered on Friday and delivered on Sunday with no freight fee. I am very pleased with these boots. And if they last more than 6 months, I will probably reorder (assuming they're still available). Give me a Coyote Brown color and I'll reorder right now! I will update this review after I've had these longer to indicate how well they are wearing.

best work boots i ever bought

first off i would like to say god bless and thank you to all the men and women who have served and still serve for our freedom. i do a lot outside so i wanted something that would feel good on my feet and hold up in any weather and also be durable, well these fit the bill all the way around and so much more i absolutely love ,love ,love these boots.if i could give it more stars i would .they arrived sooner than i expected, they fit perfect and they are so very comfortable. the arch is great, the support around the ankle is great, the zipper is very heavy duty and the laces are nice and strong.these are very well made boots .i am a female and i wear a size 8 to 8 1/2 in women so i decided to get a size 7 in men and they fit perfectly.so if your thinking of buying these i say go for it,you will love them as much as i do and the price is just a bonus.

Nice looking boot, great price!

After reading a ton of reviews on this boot i decided to take a chance. The size of the boot fits perfectly. No need to size up ir down. They are very wide inside and i had quite a bit of empty space inside where it wasn't touching my foot. After trying them on and waking around the inserts felt very stiff and hard on the foot. I wear dr scholls cf 340 inserts in all my shoes and knew instantly there was no way i could go for a 5 mile hike in these. That being said... they are great looking boots for the price! They are not military issue but they look similar and perform pretty close. It's not a steel toe boot but has a very stiff toe that could probably take some abuse, only time will tell. I ordered an $12 dr scholl insert that was made for this 200 lbs or more that had raving reviews and replaced the inserts right away. It wasn't a huge difference but definitely better. Since there was so much room in there i decided to leave the original inserts and add the dr scholls on top of it and Boom!! That was the ticket! I wore the boots for the whole day while we were running around doing errands and feet felt very comfortable! I've got compliments from my teenage boys, my wife loves them and my sister and mother in law loved them too. Not sure how they will stand up to serious abuse like construction work or hard core hiking but for the money they are definitely worth the shot!

Well worth the money.

I've had these boots about a month and a half now, and I've worn them every day since getting them. For $40 I'm way impressed, because I've beaten the holy hell out of them in the short time I've had them. Between my everyday wear and some pretty good hiking they've taken some abuse and have plenty of life left in them. They've seen lots of pavement (the killer of all shoes for me, especially cheap ones) lots of hiking trails, hiked a few small mountains, climbed some small rocky formations, and most recently went mudding when I got caught in a thunderstorm on a hike *can confirm they're NOT waterproof*. They're exceptionally comfortable, even out of the box, not much break in needed. They fit as expected, I'm normally an 11 wide if it's offered, 12 if not, the 12 fit like a glove. I had concerns about the zipper, buy it seems plenty solid.I could sing praises all day, but now I'll nitpick. The laces are kind of poopy, they started to wear pretty quick, and they're entirely too long and get longer because in the first week they were stretching. I imagine they use the same laces in the 6" and 8" boots. I remedied this by replacing them with some paracord. Second nitpick is they're lighter color in person than the pictures, I thought. No biggie as that was fixed after romping in the woods a bit. Third and final nitpick is one of the little metal vents in the side came lose and was spinning freely. I glued it in place because I didn't want it popping out leaving a hole. If that becomes a problem I'll update this review. In closing: these boots rule for the price. I'd recommend these to anyone. I'm thinking about grabbing a pair of the 8" ones to try out, and maybe another pair of 6" as backup when I inevitably wear these ones out.So, stop reading this and order them! Also, bonus points for the kick ass socks that come with the boots.
