Sole band scuffs easily.
I bought these boots because they have a zipper. I find the zipper to be one of the determining factors when looking at similar boots. The material is soft and the stitching is done well. I haven’t noticed any hanging strings. The laces are easy to secure and don’t seem to loosen while wearing. There is one thing I’m not a fan of and it is the tan sole band around the boot. The tan picks up tons of scuffs. I have not tried to remove them yet. I am pretty good at removing sneaker stains so I’m sure if I can’t do it, it’s not possible. I’m concerned I won’t find a tan sole band coloring like I have for Vans and Converse shoe bands. I kind of wish the shoe bands on these boots was white.

I ordered these SAFETY LOONG 6" Soft Toe Work Boots for Men for my teenage son; he’s heading off to college in the fall, and he’s applied to several schools in rural areas.When going on college tours, my son noticed that work boots and hiking boots were very popular with the kids he saw on campus; he’s lived his whole life in NYC and is looking forward to spending some time outside our large city and the East Coast. He wanted to try a pair of work boots, and these nubuck ones looked sturdy. He liked the side zipper; it makes them easier to put on and take off quickly, without lacing.These boots are made from nubuck leather; the soles are ethylene vinyl acetate. The nubuck uppers are sturdy; my son found the boots comfortable, but they do require a bit of a break in period. He’s been wearing penny loafers to school for years, so he needed to get used to stiffer work boots. Wearing these for a short while at a time helped him break them in slowly without getting blistered.I ordered these in a size 11 wide; my son usually wears a 10 1/2 or 11 wide, and he found the 11 fit very comfortably. I would say these run true to size. The soles have a thick, dimensional tread, nicely sturdy, but the boots are fairly lightweight to wear. The side zippers are easy to use, and my son greatly preferred them to lacing and unlacing his boots all the time.At the current price ($72.99) these offer excellent value at a slightly lower price point; many of the nubuck and other real leather boots I’ve seen sell for well over $100. These boots are well made, sturdy, comfortable, and attractive. My son is very happy with them and looks forward to wearing them into the country and beyond, far beyond the concrete of NYC next fall.
