Amazing shoe? Light weight and secure footing.

I chose the Salewa Mountain Trainer Lite because I was looking for a durable shoe I could regularly walk 6-10 miles in. After some months, I am satisfied I have found the shoe. I am walking in 40-60 F weather and it has proven very comfortable and secure for walking 1.5-2 hours straight. I wear a single pair of smartwool socks and have experienced no break-in issues. For the forefoot is very well shaped with only slight rise from the ball forward. I like this because I have found I can walk longer in shoes that have an insole that is virtually flat heal-to-toe. There are slight depressions under the toes that reduce friction on the toes and provide a more natural roll off. I would buy these again.

Great shoes and great service

I really like Selewa shoes - they fit my skinny, low-volume feet well, and they last a longer than other brand that I've used. I ordered these on Monday and they arrived in perfect condition on Thursday. What's not to like about that? These are a bit heavier than the Selewa Alpine Extremes they're replacing (the Wildfire is the Extreme replacement) and the slightly stiffer soles should protect my feet better from sharp rocks and the like. I like the more aggressive sole tread, and I'm happy to trade the more difficult-to-clean tread for better traction.I'm very happy with these. They arrived quickly, fit well, and I expect years of very solid service. Now if I could just get the without the horrible lime green laces ...

Durable, reliable, stylish

I've logged about 50 miles of hiking in these shoes, from steep inclines, to mud, to razor sharp volcanic rock in Maui. They've held up great so far, the tread is still fantastic, and they're comfortable. The only grip is that they're a bit loose around the ankles, but it's not prevented me from taking those strenuous hikes. I'll buy again when the time comes.

Well I did get blisters, they are wide for a salewa. Super bright orange.

Well, I did get blisters, they are wide for a Salewa. Super bright orange. Pretty solid for a hiking shoe, a little heavy to run in.

💯💯 Comfort is #1

These shoes are one of the best trail / running/ walking shoes I’ve purchased. I’m a tree climber and have been in the tree business for 18 years . Whether I’m on the job or off of work, comfort is my main priority. When they advertise this shoe as blister free, they are exactly right 💯. Whether you are walking , hiking , running or just wanting a comfortable shoe .. Salewa is #1 .. I’ve wore New Balance for years , and still wear them along with Merrell.. After owning this pair of Salewas, I’m gonna buy a pair for my mom and dad soon.. and buy a pair of hiking / mountaineering Salewa boots for climbing trees in. The comfort is out of this world

Poorly designed hiking shoes, return policy has me stuck with them

Shoes are stiff and do not fit "right" or snugly (my heels want to come out of the shoe with each step). Oh and here was the worst part for me: The shoes were shipped Internationally from Slovakia and when I started a return, I was informed I would have to pay to ship the shoes back Internationally. UPS wants $200 and USPS wants $100 to do that. Also, the return customs labels that are generated with the return... print so poorly that they are illegible. It's not often we get stuck with a product from Amazon but this is one of those occasions. My fault I suppose for not researching the return policy from this seller.
