The Salewa Women's Ws Wildfire Edge GTX Hiking Shoes are designed for those who seek both comfort and performance in technical terrains. With a waterproof Gore-Tex® lining, these shoes ensure that your feet stay dry during wet weather conditions, making them an excellent choice for hiking and climbing adventures. One standout feature is the Salewa Switchfit system, which allows you to adjust the fit by pulling the laces, effectively shifting your foot into a position similar to wearing climbing shoes. This provides better toe compression for climbing while allowing for a more relaxed fit when you're hiking.

Love Salewa hiking shoes. Great fit, great comfort.
Shoes are pretty good but the lacing system is terrible. The thin chord they choose to build the heel to toe is not durable and there is no way to replace it.
Salewa shoes aren’t well known in the US, I only discovered them recently. I’m very picky about shoes and socks, proper fit is critical. I’ve always worn 10.5 shoes in standard width. I wear trail/approach shoes for work, hiking and leisure. I supinate and this style of shoe supports my ankles properly. I’ve worn various Vasque shoes for 20+ years, mostly the Juxt model. After I discovered Salewa I decided to check them out. They have many similar shoes across the product line and I wanted to compare them. There’s only one retailer on my area with limited stock and there’s not much info online comparing the different models. So I ordered a few different models from Amazon. Every model of Salewa shoes I tried are very narrow, I could never get a good fit even going up one full size. When I tried on the Wildfire Leather in 10.5 I they way too narrow, I couldn’t even get them on. I returned and got the 11.5. I could squeeze my feet into these, but still way too narrow and were returned. I was impressed with the construction, these appear to be very high quality and have a novel lacing system. The these have a stiff and hard midsole like most hiking shoes and boots. trail shoe. The POMOCA outsole is sticky, and should work well on a trail and rocks.I only wore these a few minutes because of the width, I can’t speak to durability.
Shoes fit well. Already coming apart at the toe on both shoes. This will be my last pair of Salewa. The quality has gone way down
2 Days past return window! These look good, and felt comfy in a local store; we bought from Amazon for a better price. But my husband pointed out today they’d already separated at the toe- after wearing only 1-2 hours at most indoor /sidewalk walks) a couple days a week after work. ARGH!! Will write the company….
I have several different pairs of salwea shoes. There support and comfort are amazing.
These shoes look nice. I bought them for scrambling and mostly off trail hiking in the PNW. Unfortunately they are not very comfortable and the toe cap is already peeling off. When I tension the laces I can feel the lace string start to cut into my upper heal, not comfortable for hikes more than a mile. Also they are not a very stable shoe, they feel more like a slipper, they feel like there should be another layer between the tread and the footbed. Too bad, they do look nice. might be a good choice if you want to walk a few blocks in town and have the "im and outdoorsy type" look.
