[August, 2025 - My unbiased review of "Salomon Men's Alphaglide Gore-Tex Trail Running Shoe, Waterproof All-Terrain Shoes for Trail Running & Hiking"]I got these for my husband because he usually buys very cheap running/trail shoes that look like this but tend to fall apart pretty quickly. I'm hoping this well known brand will be different. His feet are size 12-ish, borderline medium/wide, so we picked the 12.5 in the hopes they might do the trick.I'll come back with an update when I have one, but his first impressions report is that these shoes are definitely lightweight - which he likes - and they felt, "uncomfortably snug" across the width of his foot (where the toes join the rest of the foot) when he first put them on, but even wearing them for about 30 mins around the house they seem to have stretched or 'given' a little. He said that the soles felt "a bit firm" to him, but he likes a very cushy sole so that may just be a personal preference thing.The thing I noticed is how squeaky/noisy they are on tiled floors, and I've got no clue if that will wear in, but will report back on that issue as well. Plus, it's as dry as a bone outside here at the moment, so he'll find a way to check on the waterproofing as well. Since it's so hot and dry, that will definitely give him a chance to test if they're 'breathable' like they claim.We're both usually 'cheapskates', so the current listing price of $120 (Aug 26, 2025) seems a bit high for such lightweight shoes , but the brand appears to have a good reputation for making very durable, all terrain footwear, so we're hoping that this pair lives up to that reputation.

Good quality
Nice, neat black running shoes. They feel well constructed, with good quality materials and finish. I usually wear size 11, and while the length fits fine, these feel a bit tight in the ball of the foot area. A size 11.5 might have been more comfortable. Hopefully, they’ll loosen up with use. Other than that, they look great and seem to be a solid, good quality pair of shoes.

Narrow all terrain shoe
I recently received the Alphaglide Gore-Tex trail running shoes, and so far, I’m quite pleased with their performance. These shoes are designed for versatility, making them perfect for trail running, hiking, and other outdoor activities. The GORE-TEX lining keeps my feet dry in wet conditions, which is a huge plus. The cushioning system provides decent support and comfort, allowing me to tackle various terrains without feeling fatigued. However, I did notice that the sizes run a bit longer than expected, so I recommend trying them on or sizing down if you're in between sizes. Also, not that these are extremely narrow for me, thus uncomfortable for long periods. Overall, the Alphaglide shoes offer great traction and stability, making them a solid choice for any outdoor use.
