These are a high quality hiking shoe at a great price. Good traction for hiking even on wet rocks & trails. Truly waterproof in my experience. Removable footbed allows me to use my special inserts. Almost no breaking in time with these.
I bought it used and it said it had cosmetic damage but it barely looked touched.Seems someone may have just tried it at home and returned. Soles did not look used.I have the same Salomon on mid boot and love it.I bought the lower one bec it takes less space to take on trips when we may do short hikes.I love Solomon and this model has been even better than my older one.Light and enough room on toes that is very comfy.I’m 69, have a bunion and these shoes are perfect for hiking just out of the box.Fit same as the boot which I have been using for a couple of years for a couple of 4 mile hikes per month.
Hadn't tried Salomon shoes in a few years. Was able to get these as a great deal so thought I'd try but as my experience was in the past- they are not waterproof. I use a hose at work daily. I'm not standing in water and not hosing my feet directly but they occasionally get some splash back/mist and these shoes can't handle even that. Disappointing. I've turned them into my hiking shoes instead.... positives are the treads work well for muddy trails and feet have stayed dry when hiking on muddy trails.
Really have liked these Salomon hiking shoes, am a repeat customer. Very good support and comfort for hiking and walking in a wide variety of environments. It may be my imagination but my recent pairs are less waterproof (an important factor in purchase) than an earlier pair (predecessor model). My first pair made it through swampy terrain without leaking until the shoe cracked. My recent purchases have given me wet feet when my only exposure was heavy dew and light squih. Just re-treated with a ninwax product and am going to put on my muck boots more frequently as a result. Second, they tend to wear out for me at the heel which shortens life or requires duct tape - like so many people my feet are wider through the insole than at the heel. Wish they would modify the last to make it tighter fitting there.
These are great shoes with great arch support. Grip in most situations isn't bad. Not great on ice. Nice color and they seem to last quite well. The only shoes of this type my wife can find that fit this well, function good as an all around shoe as well as for hiking. She has this type and the water proof one and loves them both. Not cheap but worth the cost for the great support.
One of the shoes is defective. The look where the La e goes through on the left shoe is missing. Unfortunately, I currently live in Mexico and as this item didn’t ship there directly I had to have it shipped via an importer in California (adding more shipping and tax costs). I didn’t have a problem with this, these were replacement shoes for worn out ones so I knew they would be fine and took that chance. Unfortunately, the shipper either didn’t check or didn’t care that these shoes were defective. I would have been ok if I had made n error in the order, but to have defective shoes sent and no way to return them from out of the country is disappointing. Even more disappointing is that Amazon only offered a 15% refund for the shoes. Overall, just a disappointing situation and I’m stuck with shoes that I can’t use as the foot moves around too much in the shoe with the bottom loop missing. Even more disappointing as I cannot figure out now who the seller actually was.
